My friends flew out with Monarch last Monday. The plane landed one hour early, but was told on arrival at the port that they had all missed the last ferry (!) and would have to spend the night in Corfu. Obviously Olympic had no intention of making that ferry and overnighting was not mentioned at any time before or during arrival on Corfu.
They have texted me, to ask if any of you think they've got any chance of compensation - their rep said he'd talk to them again on Sunday, before they fly home!
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't think they have a right to any compensation to be honest as accommodation was provided and I think in cases where ferry journies are involved in the travel the terms and conditions might state that these situations can and do occur.
There will be information in the small print about the tour operator not being responsible for delays in ferry crossings due to flight changes. If they paid for their hotel accommodation in Corfu then really they got a good deal - absolutely nothing wrong with Corfu town at night.
However if the flight would have landed after the last ferry departure anyway then they did receive poor service in not being informed that they would not travel to Paxos until the next day. If that's the case then I think they should write to the operator so that the information is clearly stated in their brochures in the future.
I think you'll find, after a week in Paxos, that they'll be too chilled to care too much on their return!
Their flight was meant to leave at 11.30am, but they landed 1 hour early (not sure of details why), but was told by the rep they had still missed the last ferry! Anyway they come home today, and from my own Paxos experience, you are right Darius - they should be too chilled to worry about it now!! Thanks for your responses.
Santa II and III time table 02-05-2006 to 15-10-2006
(Olympic were using this service last year)
CORFU - PAXOS Departure Times
Mon 08.15 13.30 16.00
So 16.00 would have been the last departure. If they took off at 11.30 and the flight is approx 3 and a bit hours they should have landed at 4.45pm (ish)Greek time which does mean they would have missed the departure. I thought there was a later departure than this -(perhaps they put extra services on later in the Season - I'm sure they held a 6pm hydrofoil until after 7pm for us). So if they did land an hour early that would have been 3.45pm and they probably wouldn't have been off the plane until 4.00pm.
I imagine that Olympic have used an old Summer timetable. However, I think they should clearly state this in their Resort description - if it was my first visit to Paxos I would have been upset but now I'd think it an added bonus
