Just trying to pack now for our weeks holiday to tenerife next week and i'm tearing my hair out !!! Because i'm tight and only opted to pay for one bag to put in the hold, we have 20kgs between 3 of us, will have to try and stuff as much as we can into our hand luggage, may chuck out a coupla hubbies shorts so I can sneak in an extra pair of flipflops !
Just make sure you have loads of room for handbags you are taking and a bit of spare room for handbags you are buying on holiday then you are sorted
Although we're only going for a week to Egypt, we have a 23kg allowance each, so no big decisions to be made at Easter.

Can't be doing with handbags- I'll take 2 and I'm sorted. need room for bikinis, kaftans and flipflops though
I take my time packing, last time I went on holiday, I, erm, started packing a month or so away. I knew I didn't need the clothes I was packing away, so I did it that way. I'm a women so always pack too month.
I know less is more and read how simple it is to dress items up or down with a change of footwear, a belt and some earrings, bracelets etc and I am planning what items to take for my capsule wardrobe this year. I always end up staring at the wardobe after showering umming and ahhing over what to wear for the night out and I always go overboard with holiday packing in case someone thinks 'she's wearing that top again!' I take things and never wear them because they don't look right at the time or feel right (especially if feeling bloated)
I am on holiday for two weeks in Corfu this summer and will take just 4 bottoms for nights out. I will have 2 pairs of linen trousers; black and white and 2 shorts; one knee length denim white and black city shorts. Daytime is easy enough because it will be so hot we'll be round the pool and beach most days so swim stuff, a couple of kaftans and shorts are all that's needed. I'm taking more dresses this year too, easier to pack than shorts, tops and wondering what goes with what etc
Im now thinking about what to take. Ive got holiday clothes that I only ever wear on holiday, so they are laundered when we get home and put away for the next time. Ive been thinking today that i may get some summery dresses to take instead of the usual skirts and tops. Im trying not to take as much(not sure if i will manage it though ) so i thought a dress for every night would be easier that the mix and match malarky i go through every night before going out So now have to look where i can get reasonable prices summery dresses from. I cant wear maxi dresses because im short, I would look like a darlek!!! I do like them though but just dont suit me.
I'm sure you cannot be any shorter than me and I took maxi dresses this time. I thought I would look silly but I got plenty of compliments. I usually do the mix and match, linen trousers and tops but decided on a change.
sunaddict- Im 5ft 2 but not slim either!!!! I tried some on a while back and they were on the floor, infact i felt like i was wearing a nightie I really do think they look loverly on other women-not me though I need some that come just above my ankle so i will have to have a surf on the net to see what i come up with. This was just a fleeting idea this morning but now its turn into a mission
I'm only 4'10" I bought mine from M & S per una. They're not meant to be maxi but the look great. I've only got one that's needs heels, the others are not quite touching the floor and I can wear flats.
You sound like me, I have ideas which turn into mission's too!
For example -
Black Linen Trousers + Yellow Top
White Linen Trousers + Yellow Top
Black Linen Trousers + White Top
White Linen Trousers + Black top
then if it looks too plain or the same all the time I take lots of jewellery and add different colours to mix it up a bit!

This year I have 8 lovely dresses, so don't really need to take anything else for our 2 week holiday. However I have some lovely linen trousers and some gorgeous new tops. What's a girl to do
Go for 4 weeks
If only - one can but dream
I've got just about the right amount of nice clothes for my forthcoming holiday. What I can't believe is the amount of clothes hubby seems to have got I was sorting through them yesterday and had to decide to leave a couple of pairs of cropped evening trousers behind. That's unheard of for somebody who'd be happy enough to take a couple of pairs of shorts in a carrier bag
Last year when we went down south, we had absolutely scorching weather the whole time (amazing I know) so I never really had enough shorts with me (just had to wear the same ones) This year I am sure we will not be so lucky with the weather (looking at it at the moment) so just got to pack everything right through from swimsuit/flip flops to winter coat/walking boots!!!
knickers 14
bras 7
Dresses 7
Bikini 5
sarongs 5
shoes 1
I always buy everything new (Thank goodness for E Bay )
All sorted
I have three holidays booked for this autumn/winter and I have only bought a couple of new tops and can't see me buying anything else for the trips. I have wardrobes full of clothes that I rarely wear so I'm sure I can pick out some outfits that will be suitable from what is hanging there.
