Flight Only / Airline and Airports

Discussions relating to flight only, airlines and airports.
I fly on the 29th June and still no tickets or etickets....time to phone hays travel I think! is this normal for Onur air to be this late with tickets? :)

greenshoes,

Onur Air issue e-tickets so you should have them emailed to you well before now, normally when you book the flights. All you need is your booking confirmation (reference number), you may not get anything else from them. If you booked through an agent, they may issue you them.

Is it possible to know which type of plane he will be on and maybe even the actual a/c for tomorrow?
Thanks

wasginge,

Flights operated by an Airbus A321-200 aircraft.

It looks as though it will be TC-OAI operating tomorrows flight.

This might be a really silly question but Im booked through hays travel via Holidays4U and on my tickets it says 15kg hold luggage FREE....but it doesn't mention hand luggage...Im assuming Onur air allow hand luggage of 5kg?
Reply
greenshoes,

Hand luggage is indeed the standard 5kg.

Hey,

I'm due to fly to Bodrum with Onur Air on Thursday 1st July (yes, I've left my panic very late!!) and I haven't received any tickets, e-tickets or in fact anything from Lowcostairlines whom I booked with, other than the original documentation to confirm my booking.

Have tried ringing, emailing and googling like crazy with no help, and I still don't know whether I am supposed to have received my tickets!

I've been browsing lots of forums and half the people who have flown with Onur Air are saying they had e-tickets, and half saying they just produced the booking confirmation and were fine...I was hoping to get a definitive answer from here, because I am in a real panic! My girlfriend would be devastated if we turn up at Gatwick and are told we can't fly, its her first holiday in 10 years and probably won't be having one any time soon!

(Also, a second question: my passport and bank details have my name as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX but I always fill out forms with just XXXX XXXX...am I going to have a problem with the missing middle names, as I have been told (hopefully incorrectly), that booking confirmation/passport name MUST match to the exact letter. Any ideas?)

As the question has now been answered, I have edited out some of your personal details

dtweedale,

Welcome onboard :tup
You really need to speak to your point of booking for confirmation, but Onur Air usually operate on e-tickets. You'll need a booking confirmation at minimum, so best to speek to your tour operator. With regard to names, as long as your christian and surnames match on paperwork, middle names aren't too important. I never use my middle name either.

I've emailed and phoned Lowcostholidays, who I booked it all through, and have not received any feedback as of yet. I can't find contact details for Onur Air, and even Gatwick couldn't provide me with any information. Lowcostairlines just put me through to your typical "press 1 for this, 2 for that, 3 for the other" and then hang up after referencing me to their website each time (which has information on a billion airlines but not Onur, for some reason!)

All I've received in the 4 months since I booked it is my "direct documentation" which includes the flight references and booking confirmation, so unless something happens this afternoon or tomorrow, I'm gonna have to hope that this suffices!

Do you envisage that just having these documents will be any problem at all? Or if any charges etc may apply. I'm 18 and this is my first holiday without my dad who as a regular flyer takes control of all of this. Sorry if I'm asking repetetive questions, I just really need the reassurance that it will be fine, as I cannot get in contact with lowcostholidays properly!

Thanks,
David.

dtweedale,

When you say flight references, do you mean flight numbers (OHYxxxx) or a long number like a booking reference? Is so, that's your e-ticket number for your flights. Onur Air won't be able to help you as they are chartered by the company and Gatwick are just the airport. Only Low Cost Holidays can confirm things.

Darren,

It starts off with "ATOL receipt" as the title

Then I have a "booking reference" which is for the whole package so it appears on every page, for accommodation, transfer coach etc.

Then I have "ONUR AIR Ref 2xxxxx/xxx"

Then passenger list with my girlfriend and I.

Then:
Outbound Flight Details
Flight Departing Day and Time Arriving Day and Time
OHYxxxx London Gatwick 01 Jul '10 20:00 Turkey - Bodrum 02 Jul '10 02:00

Inbound Flight Details
Flight Departing Day and Time Arriving Day and Time
OHYxxxx Turkey - Bodrum 15 Jul '10 17:00 London Gatwick 15 Jul '10 19:00

I hope that makes sense, I've X'd all the numbers cos I'm not sure about privacy stuff; like I say, this is my first time.

What do you think? And thank you for your feedback, first time I've actually spoken to anyone who seems to know anything!!

David.

dtweedale,

They look like e-ticket reference numbers to me.

Brilliant news, I managed to find a number on this forum to actually get to speak to someone, and after about 15minutes of holding I got through to somebody and they are emailing me my e-tickets today at the latest. So glad I stuck at it!

In the case that they don't come, I'm sure that your feedback will be very useful! Thank you ever so much for reassuring me!

Justin123,

An e-ticket isn't really a ticket, it's just a reference number. As long as you have that reference number and your passport, that's all you need. Most airlines use e-tickets these days.
