I also got 10% compensation. I have accepted this. As my uncle who lives in spain works for soveriegn villas a sister co of first choice so i already had family and friends discount. Hence i didnt pay as much for my holiday as some of the other guests who were there when i was there. It has certainly put me off going with first choice ,going to turkey, and going all inclusive. I have had good holiday with first choice all inclusive on the costa blanca. I have booked up to go to benidorm next august for 2 weeks self catering. I have paid £100 less for this than i did to go to pp for a week in June. Im a little apprehensive as i have always went away either full board or all inclusive. Im sure i wont tire of eating out at different places each day. Good luck to everyone fighting for compensation i believe everyone who went deserves more than 10% espically the guests who arrived when the pp had just opened i went 6th june so was one of the first.

i told them to stuff it. then contacted ros the travel lawyer. She said over 20 people had contacted her so far asking to take their cases further.she said the amount being offered to me i went on the first week was totally unacceptable and nowhere near what i was due.

we got a cheque for 10% from first choice we traveled 13th-27th june, i have told them this is a joke and will not be accepting it,this would not have paid for the overpriced ice creams we had to buy because they would not supply ice creams as listed in their 1st edition brochure and from what i can make out a lot of familys booked from this,this is one of many issues of complaint that first choice are trying to ignore, the food they say in there letter to me was due to chefs trying out different dishes to see what the british like? i have said to fc if they do not know in all the years they have been in buisiness what the brits like they should give up,in reading the new post on pp/pt it seems that the entertainment has still not improved to when we were their, how can they get away with advertising at least 2 professional cabaret shows per week,the only act they had was the couple who played by the pool bar and they were limited playing while fc did there silly shows in that waste of space amphitheatre,this must be the most uncomfortable place i have ever had to sit in, drinks getting knocked over,losing your kids in the darkness,can anyone honestly say they enjoyed sitting in here, i am waiting for fc response to the turn down of their 10% and will keep anyone who wants to know in the picture.

still awaiting reply from first choice re- holiday but this morning have received cheque for medical insurance. First Choice recommended gold insurance - with no policy excess- well why has 25 pounds been deducted from each claim- i will have to check small print. and may i add i have never complained or claimed on any insurance policy before- we spent nearly 150 pounds for the pleasure of staying at PP AND VISITING THE DOCTOR- and because one visit was mine and one visit was my husband this is automatically considered as two claims therefore 2 - 25 pounds have been deducted - DONT THINK I WILL EVER TRUST A HOLIDAY COMPANY AGAIN

hi weemaz was also had palace between 13-27 June and have also returned my 10% cheque telling them not to insult me! due to get a response by 12 sep.The problem i have now is i booked back in april to go next year on a low cost deposit, i told first choice to cancel booking as would never go back and they are now trying to get rest of deposit form me. Told them that i was trying to get compensation for this year and would not be paying it but they said i have to. Im going to contact Ros for advice cause no way am i giving them any more money for this hotel!

Oh Dear baby_caitlyn, wouldn t give them anything else. Dont think I could stomach another visit to this resort even it improved 100% as I would be thinking to much about my holdiay from hell, to enjoy any other there.

does anyone have copy of first edition brochure 2004 - booked june - can you check if in the back of brochure - re - gold insurance conditions if any statement regarding excess for medical claims - i'm sure it states nil excess - afraid my copy was sent to Ros. on correspondance from europ assistance - they are advising error was made but FC responsible - can anyone help

I will dig out my copy of the brochure, but in the insurance booklet that you get when taking out the insurance it states that there is a £25 excess.

hi weemaz we have been told we need to pay rest of deposit but we can change resorts and hotels with no admin fees yeeeehhaaa. The only problem is we have to book with first choice again. Think we will go to mainland spain at least then you know you aint in middle of nowhere

we have got a reply from fc in response to our turn down of their silly 10% compensation, they are flatly refusing to increase the compensation they have offered us,so it looks like the travel lawyers will be making some money out of all this sorry buissiness,anyone heard anything different

Steviebags, what is their defence for not increasing the 10% compo. Im still waiting for a response to my 2 emails and also a recorded delivery letter telling them to stuff it.

Hi guys ive just been reading posts regarding no increase in compensation. I also told first choice were to stick there 10% and have just spoken to them and they have told me my compensation has been increased to 20%. Letter is on its way out to me. So get back on the phone to them now!!!. I travelled between 13th-27th June

they have not given a reason as such, they say having reviewed our correspondence and giving careful consideration to the points raised they will not be increasing their offer of compensation, and hope we will give their comments positive consideration, yeah right dont it make you laugh or cry, the cheek of it give their comments positive consideration just like they have i suppose , i considered it for about 1 or 2 seconds and think it sucks and will be contacting them again to tell em so, interesting to see that they have offered baby_caitlyn 20% although i think their still trying to take us for mugs, i told them first off i wanted a full refund but after talking to trading standards and abta i told fc i would accept 50%, now i will be seeking more if i go through the legal channels.

Got another cheque this morning bringing my total compo to 20%, thinking about just bowing out graciously and taking it. Will give it to Thomas Cook for next years holiday.

What do you think should I take it or what.
