Hi Everyone,
I am looking for some advice.......
We are going to the maldives in may for 14nts, the last 7 nts we are staying at Lily Beach and transferring by seaplane, but we want a different island for the 1st 7nts ideally transferring by speedboat, we are on a little bit of a tight budget and have been looking at meeru and club faru.
I like the idea of been on a speedboat for around 1hr so meeru appeals the most although it looks to have quite a lot of rooms and would ideally like somewhere smaller although that isnt a nessessity.
The things that have put me off of club faru is it seems too close to male and i read somewhere that you sit with other couples at meal times and we would like our privacy as this is to celebrate our honeymoon.
We would also prefer to be a.i but would accept fb or even hb at a push if it seemed the right island.
A few questions ...........
Can you reccomend any resorts that fit those criterias?
Is it going to be a problem changing islands half way through, ie, getting back to male at certain time for the transfers etc as we have already booked lily beach?
When you are there can you tell much difference in the islands themselves or do they all look the same?
Sorry for the long waffle and weird random questions.
Thans Sweet
Out of Meeru and Club Faru I'd go with Meeru.
Personally I would have gone for 2 weeks on one island as they're not that much different from each other and you end up losing a day transferring.
If your on a tight budget have a look at Biyadoo. About 30ish minutes by speedboat I believe.
Meeru is busier considerably than LB but not exactly what you could call packed or lively!! I personally prefer to be that little bit further away from Male than Faru is - it's still close enough to get daytrips to Male should you want to - but it's far enough away from the city island to avoid the light pollution and aircraft on approach!!
There is a "Meeru" forum somewhere on the net that is worth googling as there is plenty of info on there about the island
Thanks Guys. Seems like meeru could be the place, altho i did look at biyadoo and i liked the idea it was so relaxed. Maybes i will keep looking, so if anyone as anymore input then i would love to hear it.
