We'll be flying to Manchester.Last week's flight was carrying the 11 hour delay before it got to Manchester for the outward journey.I'm hoping it was a one-off as it seems to have been fairly reliable prior to then.
Sagres,
You all packed and ready for the off
Have a wonderful time and I hope Mrs Sagres is o.k.
We'll keep an eye open for that flight heading back to Manchester on 27th......
Just a thought......how would we recognise each other.....
4 big sleeps to go......

As things stand at the moment, we intend to travel in the morning provided there's no sign of the dizziness and sickness.
Have a great time everybody ('though the weather forecast isn't exactly spectacular for next week.)

Just thought I would let you all know that it has been raining here in Albufeira most of the morning, we had a few bangs of thunder during the early hours and there are grey clouds all around.
Unfortuately the weather radar is offline but from the forecast it looks like we are in for some more of the same for the next day or two.

I'm back!! We had a great time in Cabanas
The weather turned a little on the Thurs but still warm just cloud till about lunch time. We came home yesterday and woke up to the evidence of rain as mentioned earlier. However by mid morning the sun was out as we flew home.
We had a hire car for the duration of our 11 nights and travelled up the East coast.
Villa Real was nice around the marina area, but the shops?? We nicknamed it 'towel town' as every shop, row after row sell towels and bedding.
Alcoutim was lovely especially if you travel back down the C road which hugs the river.
Mertola - is also a lovely town, with a castle and little winding streets.
We also visited Fiesa where they have the sand sculptures. We did this on our last day and worth the trip and the €7 entry fee. We spent about an hour and a half there.
We were out every day in the car touring round then visiting a beach around about 3-4pm so didn't spend a lot of day time in resort. We did however have couple of good nights out - usually ending up in Quasimodo bar till 3am
Met some lovely people there and was especially impressed with the young Portuguese who sit on the walls with their friends chatting - and not a hood in sight.
Lovely resort and would certainly return. However I missed the West coast for the beaches as we could tour around that side and visit a beach, on the East coast we obviously had to travel back south to see the sea.
Have great holidays Pat and Bill and Mr and Mrs Sagres

Still grey overhead. Some more bangs of thunder in the distance overnight. Rain on the way from the east. Not cold though but definitely not very nice.
Oh well, if it's the rain we're heading to we'll just need to find a cosy little bar and maybe try this tinto that Sagres recommends.....I'm sure we've tried it before though
Glynis, glad you enjoyed Cabanas but can't believe you didn't go across on the little boat to the fab beach there? Or head along to the fab beaches at Monte Gordo or Altura which you must have passed on your way to Vila Real!!!!
Whatever the weather, me and Bill will have a great time meeting all our old friends and exercising our arms.....
Just packing at the moment and getting a taxi about 11am tomorrow.

We did go twice over on the little boat and the beach was great. We visited Monte Gordo and Altura and went on Altura beach
We also went to Monta Rota beach
What I meant was that the West coast if you go up the north end you can pop across to a beach whereas on the East coast after a trip up north you have to come back south to go to the beach. Sorry for any confusion.
Duh......
Sorry, Glynis, it's me getting excited about tomorrow......
Only 1 big sleep to go......
......PLEASE
