OH was in the post office this morning asking about visa money cards instead of taking travellers cheques or euro's. You get a visa card and can add anything from £500 to £2500 on it and spend it like a credit/debit card.
Has anyone had anyone used these in Cyprus, they seem straightforward enough but googling this afty, there are a lot of bad reviews. I've told him we'll not bother and just take a mix of euros and TC, any advice will be taken on board.
Thanks.
To answer your question though, i used my card in both Ayia Napa and Kos last year with no problems at all, but i only used it to draw cash, i didn't use it for purchases as I thought it would be easier to keep track of the balance on the card.
I've just topped the card up for Ayia Napa this year and i have loaded it with €1206.00, and i will draw €300 cash four times, the €6 will cover the 4 x €1.50 withdrawal fee!!
