You may well be fine but it is still Hurricane season in the Caribbean and it can be quite stormy. Ship though will usually go full steam ahead to keep out of the danger zones.

I did San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale but I think it was either July or August if my memory is correct.

That will be a Panama so there is no crossing so to speak.

We did one in Oct and the Mexican side was very hot, Panama was supposed to be hot but it rained.

There are some good deals on these trips this year have a look at the itineries/prices/ships to get best value.
