its all gone very quiet on this forum. does anyone have any news on the wave pool, have e mailed hv, still waiting for reply
Just got back a few hours ago, will try and post proper review etc later, so feel free to fire on a few questions for me.
Sweetiepie, Turkey was better, this is ALMOST as good, but just not quite. John, the wave pool is nearly ready, the pool is filled and they are adding the finishing touches. I have to go out but will try and sort out my photos later as I took one of the wave pool. I knew it would be of use to someone!

thanks again
please let us all know what you thought of the hv. hope you had a great holiday.
We are SOOOoooo ready for this holiday, and room service would be a great touch that we have never had before...
Our 2 best holidays so far have been,
1/ Moon Palace (Cancun)
2/ Club Alto Colina (Algarve)
cheers, peace and love xxxxx!
Hi scottish mum.I'm glad that you had a good time and that it is almost as good as the turkey one as that was excellent.Did you go any of the excursions etc,if so what one's would you recommend. thanks x
They felt disgusting!!
Regarding the waterparks, the Mijas one is better for younger children, Torremolinos is better for older kids.
Room service. I'm not sure if you have to pay for any of the food that you order but there is a 15 Euro 'delivery charge' whether you are AI or not!!
Regards.
I have a problem with they hygiene throughout the whole hotel though, I saw lots of disgusting things and wasn't particularly impressed with the bedspredding service, aka maid service.
Sorry I haven't managed to get back on to post the pics of the wave pool as promised. I'm sure its probably open by now, but this is how it looked on the evening of thursday 5th July!
Hi im back. had a great holiday, will post a review later. wave pool is now open very deep and quite choppy so not good for not good swimmers. agree with the maid service not being great but next floor up said theirs was fantastic so might be the luck of the draw. food was good but got sick of it. went to the marine park, torremelinos waterpark and ate out in beamendena a few times.
The mini bars in the room - do you have to pay? what do you get in them?
Do they do ice creams all day? this year we only had for 1hr a day!
I have a 13 and 11 year - would this place be good for them?
Do all the rooms have 2 showers and large balcony's?
Thanks in advance for replies.
sorry forgot to ask - what is the BEACH CLUB??
hi i must say we went to the spain hol village last year and turkey this year.i found the turkey hol village 100 per cent better.that is only my opinion though. the spain one is next to a very busy main road absolutely nowhere to walk in an evening, only place to go is by bus.the beach was not an easy walk and you had to cross the busy main road. my boys are 12 and 9 and thought turkey was far better, but we do like to wander out of the hotel so thats why we loved sarigerme. othe thing we didnt like at spain was there is only one restaurant, its inside, food not as good as turkey and its not as relaxed. if you do like a walk in the evening i wouldnt recommend.
the Holiday Village is in the middle of no-where! Unless you are prepared to wait for a bus or get a taxi you will be stuck. It's a long, long walk into Benalmadena and it's along a dual carriageway. I can understand why they built it there, you are stuck unless you spend a lot on transport, so will use their shop with over inflated prices
just to answer some of your questions, from when i was there in aug06.
all the rooms are of the same size and all have one shower and one bath. all have a large balcony with access from living room or bedroom. all have a fridge, not a mini bar, only stocked with one water and a couple of bottles of coke/sprite. you can get free ice cream from 12-6pm, but only from pool bar and not at the beach club, which is a separate pool area across the road, where we also had our a/inclusive lunch. the h/v is a long way out from the towns but if as you say you enjoy walking i am sure it would be quite pleasant, but you would be walking along a busy road. we had a fab holiday in 06 and are going again july 28. not long now cant wait.
ps
my son is 11 and had a smashing time in aug06
happy hols
john
Only difference from what John has said isince last year is, that ice cream is available at the beach club too now.
I reckon a holiday is what you make it - When I booked I knew it is in the middle of nowhere, but my kids hate leaving the hotel complex when we go on holiday and love Butlins, so can't go wrong lol.
Intend visiting benaldema and Fuerginoula (spellings?) what's the bus and taxi service like - if we went out at night and came back about midnight would we still get a taxi ok?
Really looking forward to it.
the buses run about every half hour to both towns, there will be a bus times leaflet available at reception. only problem when we went in aug06 was that it could get very hot waiting for the bus and with an excited 10 year old, next to a busy main road it wasn't much fun. we found the taxis pretty good but beware they do drive fast. there was no problem getting a taxi at midnight because that is still quite early for benalmadena/fuengriola.
There are also a couple of other restaurants on site - the Italian & Mexican.
Yes there is a main road right next to the hotel. Our room overlooked the main pool and side of the road, yet we never had a problem with the noise!
I'm not surprised the wave pool is ready, they worked very hard on it whilst we were there at the beginning of June.
Thanks John and Rachel - really looking forward to it and so are the kids, just hope the weather isn't like here in the Uk!!
