I quite agree the bellevue is expensive for what you get, luckily we booked ours through greatlatedeals.co.uk for the bellevue this year its saved us £1300 compared to first choices price... beleive me if i had paid first choices price for the bellevue i would have been on there doorstep complaining on my return.
I cant actually see why first choice sell the bellevue, its obviously just to make money, customer satisfaction clearly doesnt come into the equation.
Who have you booked with for your turkey holiday?? sounds very good

I booked with thomas cook its A/I plus hotel and you get 6 bars one open 24/7, free mini bar in the room filled with beer, water and soft drinks filled daily, Buffet restaurant, and Italian, Mediterranean and Turkish a la carte restaurants one eat in each once a week. Free banana boat rides, free water sking, free sailing, free canoes, free windsurfing, free sailing lesson, free tennis lesson, scuba diving lesson. Private beach with sunbeds and unbrellas, free beach bar/snack bar, free towels by the beach and pool. Some international branded spirits what they are I don't know. Free scuba diving, free sailing. Probably more. I thought it was great value for money. I booked 25/8/2008 to 8/9/2008. Picked those because its not as hot as june, july and early august. For peak summer dates just between £400 to £600 to the final price. I played travel agents off against each other and got the price down from £2415 to £2230. I have got day flight, night flight are £40 cheaper per person

Look what you get at the bellevue and compared to the wow bodrum resort. The wow bodrum resort wins hand down and in peak time the price for 4 people in 2 room doesn't come to as much as the bellevue with first choice.

The price of the bellevue £3900 for 4 people sharing is for the same dates as for my booking 2230 for 3 people in 2 rooms. I am thinking of paying for my daughter and her boyfriend next year and the total for 5 people is £3500 in 3 rooms and still £400 cheaper than the bellevue for 4 sharing for the same dates with first choice.

Belle Vue holiday village

We arrived at the hotel and we were shown to our room by a very polite Airtours rep.

The ramp to our apartment was steep, but accessible, which was a relief to me and my family.

On entering the room, it was very clear that this was not a "three star" accommodation as the rep had stated, it was in fact a "two star" accommodation. There was no television, no telephone, in fact there was only the bare essentials needed for a short stay.

The room itself was far from wheelchair friendly. The bathroom had adaptations, but was too small, but with a little manoeuvring I could get into it and reach the sink and toilet and roll in shower.

The bedroom was not accessible and again I could not put my wheelchair at the side of the bed, and as in the previous hotel "Alcudia Pins," there was no way that I could reach the wardrobe to hang up my clothes.

There was a bed in the living room, so I had to use that, and I had to rely on my wife to pass me a change of clothes from the wardrobe as and when required.

On exploring the holiday village area with my daughter, although there were ramps and lowered kerbs in parts, there was no way that an independent wheelchair user could stay there as the ramps were too steep, even into the local shops, and restaurants on site. The lowered kerbs were still too high for an independent wheelchair user. Also I could find no toilets anywhere in the village for wheelchair users.

If you wish to explore the local shopping area, then you will have to cross a very steep bridge that spans the local river, which is extremely slippery and dangerous for wheelchairs when it rains.

The Belle Vue holiday village in Alcudia is definitely not for independent wheelchair users. The village is only for assisted wheelchair users with fit and able carers.

Hi we went to the bellevue last year, the go karts are still there, along with the mozzies lol i wouldnt return.
we stayed n the minerva block and booked it through great late deals as it worked out far cheaper than the main tour operators, the room was large a bit dated but ok on a whole ,didnt look like it had been redecorated for a while though.
hope this helps you, :cheers

We've booked to go to the Belle Vue at Whit with Eclipse. We know it's a big complex as we stayed here before. Are tour operators allocated certain blocks or do the management just fit people in wherever. We previously stayed at a block over looking the main road and that was ideal for us as it was quicker to get in and out; even remember hopping the wall a few times! If anyone can recommend a good block that isn't really far from the gate or has the e-mail address for the Belle vue so we can contact them ourselves that would be really helpful.

hi, we have booked bellvue in aug and have specifically requested not to be accomodated in fedra blocks which are right at the back. booked thru direct holidays and they have put this on booking but is not guaranteed so i too will be emailing or writing to bellvue which i believe does not open until april. we have stayed in minerva as well at the front also leda which is the first one on the left at entrance and fedra which as i said is at the back. we wouldnt mind being in leda or minerva again or in the middle is ceres, sirena and diana. in fact any one but fedra will do. hope we are both lucky and get what we want. have a good holiday

It was the Fedra blocks we knew we wanted to avoid. Where we stayed last time was great - overlooked a sort of canopied restaurant but it was 10 years ago and the name has long since faded from our memories.

I think some tour operators do get a preference on certain blocks, but here's an email address - booking@hotetur.com

This is the central reservations address. There is also a bookings phone number that might be useful - 0034 902 100 655

hi again chivas69. you were probably in minerva 1 or 2 if it was overlooking the main street. we too liked minerva but some dont like the noise. the canopied restaurant was probably lunas grill which is still there and does great food.

Thanks for the replies.
Does anyone know if you can still get a shortcut to the road from round the lake and up by the bridge on the main street? Or is this closed off now?

Chivas, I had a chat with someone about requesting specific bookings, and the reaction was you can try but it probably won't do a lot of good. Bellevue's such a big place that to work in preferences would be hard for the bookings system, while any such request is likely to perhaps get "lost". Good luck though. He confirmed that certain tour operators do get first choices. My Travel is strong for example in the Minervas. With Eclipse, sorry but don't know.

Ok Thanks. I may ring the hotel itself a few days before we go!

i have booked the bellevue appartments for 10 days in august 2008 for myself partner and two sons aged 14 and 9 . 9 year old has special needs and after reading some of the reviews im dreading going . i have requested a apartment near to reception as son cant walk far have i done the right thing as ive read on reviews some appartments are in better location than others also are mozzies as bad as some have said i have visions of holiday been spoilt through infected bites, and can anyone tell me how long transfer is from palma airport . thanks

Carol, I wish you well with requesting a particular apartment, but as I point out on another thread the chances of the hotel complying with specific requests are low. The closest blocks to the reception would be the Leda, and these are mainly Scandinavian. The reception itself is a separate building and, while I understand your wish, it doesn't necessarily help you to be close to it as such. The complex is vast and there are facilities, such as pools etc, associated with different parts, though, by the sounds of it, you might be better off if you were in the Minerva or Sirena blocks.

Which tour operator are you going with? There can be preferences depending on which one.

The mosquitoes are an issue, no point in denying this. But generally the problem has been less acute in high summer than in say spring the past couple of years. Use plug-ins in rooms and soak yourself in Jungle Formula or something in the evenings.

The actual time from the airport is about 45 minutes but the transfer time will all depend on other stops. Be prepared for an hour and a half.

Sorry, this sounds a bit negative. Try not to worry. You'll have a fine time.

Hi Carol,
Went to Alcudia Aug 07 and didnot have a problem with mozzies at all, we have booked to go back in Aug 08 this time we have booked our flight and hotel direct and it has cost less than last year for the four of us, we stayed in the SOL ALCUDIA CENT (2 mins from the bellvue) last year, hotel was oK but very loud at night and first thing in the morrnig with the street cleaners who start at 5am, we have booked apartment on the beach that we looked at last year. When you come out of the bellvue you have a small humpback bridge to go over heading towards the beach but once you are over it the walkways are all flat, hope this helps.
Pete.
