ney do you think i should take?????
as anyone been here What's it like???
food
entertainment
rooms
etc
when are you going
i stayed at this hotel last year for 2 weeks with husband and 2 kids aged 8 and 4, we spent about 600 but that was including 2 trips to the market, we ate out in kusadasi a few times, the mini bar in the room and sweets and ice creams from the shop for the boys. We where also buying 4 or 5 bottles of water a day.
As the hotel is AI all your meals are covered and most of your drinks but the bars close at 11pm so if you want to stay out after this you need to pay for your drinks.
We stayed in a junior suite and as we had paid extra for this expected the room to be bigger but it was not the family rooms are a good size though.
The water park is brill and there is also plenty of pools to choose from, the food was OK we never went hungry and had a really good time.
There are a few recent reviews posted in the Hotel reviews site.
Need some help im thinking of booking the aqua fantasy for may 08 for myself my hubby and 2 young children 3 & 8. Are all the restaurants in ths place All Inclusive and what is the weather like mid may???
Any hep would be much apreciated
Thanks
Nia x
I am at Aqua Fantasy until 24th July 2007. Weather is scorching and the complex is absolutely fab. Entertainment staff are brilliant although most of the daytime activities are centred around kids 15 years and over to adults. There is little for other aged children unless you want to join the kids club. The water park is the best I have been to, only problem you have to pay for your drinks etc. whilst in the park, if not you can walk outside the park and there is a pool where you can get your free drinks. There is plenty to do on site here and we havent felt the need to go far. The dolmus is cheap to go into Kusadasi but dont bother with the Ladies Beach. The reps will tell you to go there but I think they may be on some sort of commission as it is just an overcrowded beach. Ladies, be careful with the shopping, you will get pulled into any of the shops and hassled until you buy. My husband wouldnt let me go on my own. This is an international complex and you will find yourself mixing with all nationalities, especially those from Iran! The entertainment is in a mixture of languages and this we found to be the only downside to this complex. If it was ran by an English company, i.e. First Choice it would be first class. We are having a lovely holiday and would return again. If you would like any questions answered let me know. Sue
I have a few questions if someone could help please.
Is there a good vairety of food and are there any clubs opens for the kids whilst the adults dine at all (sorry spoilt at Lykia for that one) Also what are the additional costs of the a la carte for adults and children?
What sort of activities are there for kids, and what sort of things do they do in the clubs for them (mine are aged 6-11)
And finally what is the evening entertainment like?
Thanks in advance
Suebar - having read properly through this thread, you are just the person to answer my question, how does this hotel compare to Lykia please? We've recently returned from there and loved it. There was lots of activities for the kids and the food was great, would we be disappointed as there's a lot of difference in price.
Hi Pamplemousse. I have today returned from my holiday and I must say it was probably the best holiday my family have had in a while. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed at Lykia World last year and thought we would find it hard to get better. I have to say if you are looking for the same quality of food/standard rooms etc then you may be disappointed but the complex is large and all on one level, unlike Lykia. The Water Park is fab. Again thought it was much better than the Childrens Village at Lykia as my teenager felt the rides were more adventurous, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wave pool/lazy river. They are also extending the waterpark for next year so will be twice the size. My kids did not want to join the kids clubs as his brother 13 was quite happy taking part in all the pool activities during the day, as there is a full program including archery, rifle shooting, darts, table tennis, shuffleboard, water polo etc. If you are travelling with first choice then they will offer their usual kids club program (check brochure) up to 12 years old. They were just starting a Wavelength program for teenagers also while we were there. The a la carte restaurants are very much the same as Lykia, costing around £5 per person. We tried the Steak House which was very nice. With regard to the Evening Entertainment, there were quite a few dance shows, i.e. Grease, Shrek, Bombay Nights etc. but we didnt feel was as good a standard as Lykia but acceptable. There were quiz shows, karaoke, beach parties with fireworks. We met quite a lot of English the second week we were there and had lots of fun. All in all as I said before, perhaps not as good quality but my kids actually preferred it here and we will be booking to return next Summer. Hope this helps. If there is anything else you would like to ask please let me know. Sue
How did you find the food, and what sort of choice is there please? Looking really good up till now.
Hi Pamplemousse, I have to admit I am not a lover of the food in Turkey anyway, so probably not a good person to ask. We are very plain traditional eating British and I did find the food a bit of an issue the first few days, however the standard is good. A lot of people complained the food is cold. We did encounter this on a few occasions but we noticed it was mainly in the snack bars where the wind the blowing and people kept leaving the lids off the food. But apart from that it wasnt a problem. The resort is what I would call multi-lingual. There are so many nationalities there but during the second week there seemed to be a huge amount of British turn up and I think First Choice are really plugging this place for next year as they have changed the Turkish Airport to Izmir instead of Bodrum which is only around 3/4 hour transfer. We didnt look to book here originally, we wanted to go to the holiday village as it was more British but couldnt get the weeks we wanted so were not really looking forward to going. I think a holiday is what you make it. We met so many lovely people that we will be keeping in touch with and will probably rebook for next Summer. This place is like a holiday village but not so British and an added point is the Water Park which in itself is fab. Sue
Also what sort of room did you stay in, the standard and junior rooms are coming out at much the same price I see. Also what was the beach like and is there many sports available from there?
Hi Pamplemousse, I didnt notice they cook to order as you say, but there was usually barbecue food available in both restaurants, i.e. turkey steaks, kebabs, steak, veal and fish, usually a different one each night. With regard to the beach, I read a lot of stories saying how bad it was before we went. The water is not good, it is very cloudy and lots of seaweed, however it was very shallow and if you went out a little farther, to the end of the jetty (where some people were sunbathing) the water was clear with plenty of fish and you could still stand up in it. It is a nice sandy beach with plenty of watersports, motorised and non-motorised (non-motorised are free). They also have their own diving/scuba school which is quite reasonable. There is one area to the left of the beach where the sand looks a little muddy but it is very small and I didnt notice it until a few days before we left. At Lykia World last year if you were sunbathing on the beach you would have to walk miles for a drink, but here they have their own beach bar which I found very useful as I sat on the beach many days. Sue
Sorry, forgot to say, we stayed in a Junior Suite which consisted of two rooms with sliding door in between. One room had wardrobe, king size bed, tv with English sky channels, other room had a single bed and sofa bed. Also had a balcony and bathroom with shower over. Dont know about Standard rooms but this was fine for the 4 of us.
Also we want 28 degree plus sunny weather during the day (or close).
Quick update in case anyone reads this entry: to say I don't need the info now. Have decided to go to Mexico and see a hurricane instead.

suebar, I am very close to booking here it's just the food I think that's putting me off. We aren't fussy and neither are the kids but do like a bit of variety and am a bit worried about some of the reviews citing illness, can you reassure me a little. I can get such a good price here, £2500 for 6 of us, against £4200 for Lykia if you see what I mean.
Hi Pamplemousse, - If its only the food thats bothering you then I dont think you will find a problem. Like I said before we are very plain eaters but always found something to eat. If you dont like the buffet restaurant in the World Hotel then you will find something else in the Club Hotel so you will never starve. Ok Lykia World would maybe have slightly more variety but there really wasnt much in it and every one of us in our party much preferred Aqua Fantasy to Lykia. Everything is on one level, no steep steps like Lykia and not only was the water park fab but by next Summer it will be twice the size! Its so very good value for money. We too had a bargain this year, we booked at the last minute £1400 2 weeks for 4 people. You would be looking at a lot more money for Lykia and you wouldnt have any better a holiday. Just one more point, not sure if I already mentioned. First Choice travel into Bodrum airport at the moment which is a long transfer, same as Lykia, but from next Spring onwards they will fly into Izmir airport which is around 45/50 minutes from resort. After speaking with the reps this place is becoming much more popular and I think the prices will soon rise to the same as the other similar resorts, so if you can get a good price you would be daft not to book - go on, go for it! Good luck. Sue
Sorry, forgot to say we never saw any illness or heard of any while we were there.
