Has anyone been long haul with them and are they ok ?
For long haul flights do they have food available.
Also I had heard rumour the flight wasn't direct although it says nothing about that on their web site ?
General thoughts about going to the USA would also be appreciated as this is the first time we've flown with them, they are very difficult to get hold of on the phone.
They do have meals as far as i know. We're now flying Business Class for outbound and Premium coming home. I'll keep u posted how it goes
On flights from 1st November 07, flyglobespan will be operating a two class service. Our new Economy class will essentially mirror our premium class service and include:
"¢ Generous seat pitch
"¢ 25kg luggage allowance
"¢ Full meal service
"¢ Complimentary drinks
"¢ In-flight entertainment
"¢ Seat selection-
book early and select
standard seats at no
charge
hope this helps
The flights are on a neos aircraft this summer as our other 767 are late coming, there is another one due aug/sep then another early next year, there planned to do sfb on the 757 for the winter 38" business the rest of the cabin is 32" screens down the centre for ife.
Glittet girl, if its this sept you will be on neos and business is a seperate cabin with 50" sleeper seats had very good reports of pax saying how nice it is, you just never hear about good reports, mostly italian crew onboard from neos who are into the swing of the GSM service now so you should have a good flight,
Ah well, at least it'll happen on the way back - our holiday should get off to a good start in business! Fingers crossed!
We are flying Globespan (first time with them!) on 18th Glasgow - Faro, have read a few horror stories, and must admit not had much joy from Globespan themselves.
Am trying to find out which aircraft they will use, and an idea of seat pitch and width, has anyone any experience of this route and can give me any advice please?
Was last minute booking, so cannot upgrade seats since none available!
Thanks
According to the schedule, GSM317/8 are operated with a Boeing 737-800. These are configured 3-3. Seat pitch is 30" and standard seat width generally 17.2".

I've used Globespan loads of times including Glasgow to Malaga last week and have never had a bit of bother with them, other than a few unhelpful, gruff cabin crew.
When I initially booked i was promised Airport lounge, 50" seats and champagne receeption in business class i ahve still to check if these are actually the case, has anybody received these extras
I have been promised business class aswell Rawson cos they've changed our flight day so they gave us Business class as compensation.
i have just posted about miserable cabin crew on a different airline.
when your on long haul just looking forward to ya hols that the last thing you want.
on our flight they wouldn`t even give us a drink said they were on their break so we had to sit with our tongue hangin out till they were ready.
IF THEY CANT STAND THE HEAT THEY SHOULD GET OUT OF THE JOB

If I had a pound everytime a customer would say 'excuse me, I know you are eating but......' just when you are about to have a bite to eat, it can get very trying. We are human too.
I am not having a go, just explaining from at different view point. If it is the case that the whole crew were on a break I can understand your point. there should be at least a few crew who are not breaking.
Every other job/profession has a break when they work.
i understand not all cabin crew are the same,we have had some lovely people on flights in the past.
but on the hand when we`re on a plane 8-9 hrs and only got 2 drinks and we had to beg for one of them it gets a bit much.
i thought it a bit odd when all cabin crew where on a break together
anyway wont stop me flying, our holiday starts as soon as we get to the airport, go away again in 6 wks.

Hi pam .. in case of any confusion for Flyglobespan passengers using this topic, can we just be clear that this is your experiences of a different airline which you are talking about ?
I am not sure to worry about this matter or not but i booked 2 flights for my mum and her sister to vancouver for october this year from glasgow with globespan and i also at same time booked flights for my other aunty in london to vancouver with flyglobespan, today i got a further amendment to the booking from london gatwick it has been changed twice, and it says on the email that london routes midweek in october are now all withdrawn.Luckily my aunties flight fllies on the sunday and it is not being withdrawn. And also received another email from them for my mum and her sisters flight from glasgow it has been changed too, if this kind of thing common? My mum is worried incase they totally change her dates as my dad has to go into repsite when shes away and its all planned round the dates of him being in there. I have been with globespan a few times to alicante and never had any problems.
Flight changes do occur but the volume of changes GSM are having to do is not common and some passengers don't know whether they are coming or going with all the changes. GSM have had a hard time this year with their rapid expansion (arguably running before the can walk), aircraft with technical problems and very tight schedules leading to flights being withdrawn due to low load factors. It's not surprising really with the number of delays and changes, they've given themselves a poor reputation on their long haul routes.

Up to now we(4 of us) are the only people to have selected our seats in business class.
Do you know what you are getting in business class?
We've picked our seats online aswell and we seemed to be first to do this also. We've also chosen our meals, but ive read that because they're using italian aircrafts (not always a Flyglobespan aircraft because Air India is renting them or something?) sometimes you dont always get the meal you've chosen and the italian staff dont speak good english so trying to explain this is a nightmare apparently.
Im tempted to phone up and see if they'll bump us up to Business for the return flight aswell - as now we're flying out a day earlier my partner is having to take an extra day off work UNPAID, and we've had to book an extra day for both the hire car and the hotel, but they wont compensate for these extra things we're having to do. But dont know if we'll be chancing our luck asking for business for return flight aswell - what do u think? If you dont ask you dont get, right?
Oh, and we've been assured by the Flyglobespan girl on the end of the phone that its "Highly Unlikely" the flight will change again!
Hello again glittergirl, yuor right the worst they can say is no may get an opportunity to negotiate after that, good luck
Can anyone tell me if you are allowed to pool your luggage with flyglobespan? Flying out to Faro on 10th August from Durham Tees Valley (Teeside).
Many thanks
Theresa
