I know that many regulars on this forum are very knowledgable about this part of Egypt so would love your help to find our ideal all inclusive.
We are limited to travelling to Taba on a Friday from Manchester so would need to be able to book with one of the larger travel operators.
Our wish list would be
good beach with snorkelling off beach/jetty
wine served with lunch and dinner
choice of all-inc restaurants
at least one outside bar
'Family' facilities and entertainment are not particularly high priority for this holiday.
Many thanks, Caro
Ps. Failing that, can anyone recommend an all-inclusive in Hurghada with good snorkelling!
The snorkelling is a bit limited but just a couple of hundred yards round the corner you have an excellent stretch ( on and off about 3 miles long ) of coral reef that is totally uncrowded and superb for snorkelling.
............................... if you are still reading this - big mistake......... go and book now !
Thanks Swiss, thought that might be the best choice! Still working on hubby to get him back to Egypt but I'm almost there...
I must admit I am not an expert compared with others on this site having only been there once but am returning this Oct but what I can tell you
Excellent beach with easy access with Coral, sand shelves down bit shingly went first enter but flats out into soft sand.
As Swiss says there are fantastic snorkeling sites within easy walking distance and I hope he wont mind me saying this but the best is stretch is along the beach in front of his Hotel of which he and his staff made us feel most welcome when we paid him a visit on quite a few occasions during our 2 week stay at the Hilton.
Also has a pier which is good to snorkel up and down, which is also floodlit at night so you watch the lionfish and barracuda hunting.
Wine served at meal times.
Choice of 2 all inc restaurants Main Buffet (B L D) and the the Italian ( open in the evenings only) third choice of an excellent A la carte which is a pay for but well worth it 4th coice during the day of the beach bar which is also pay for for food which is also very very good
2, outside bars Pool and Beach, drinks are all inc. the pool bar just after the sunsets is a great laugh cos everyone meets up and tells their individual stories of what they saw under the water during that day ( well I did,.. I wondered why they all kept nodding off)
Reception bar open all day all inc.
Shells disco bar open in the evenings all inc.
as for the entertainment well thats just as well that its not a priority except for the spinning man who is brilliant.
I could say loads more but the other will laugh at me for sticking up such a long post. ( Rog mate )
I will end, however, with this I found this Hotel like you through this a couple of other travel reveiw sites.
I was not disapointed this is a fantastic hotel, it has something very special about it.
the location, the ambiance, the staff, I dont know it, just is
Have a look at the photo galleries Eygpt, Nuweiba, section it will give you a good idea
Im going now to have a lie down zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Thanks wightlion. The fact that guests return speaks for itself. Took your advice and went through the photo album...looks good, the staff look great and as for the video of Tommy the turtle, wow!
I totally echo the comments of both Swiss and Wightlion regarding The Coral Hilton, in fact you have probably noticed me "waxing lyrical" about the place on other threads. It does have, as Whitelion says, a certain something which is difficult to put your finger on but keeps their percentage of returners, one of the highest in Egypt. The fact that Wightlion stayed awake long enough to finish his post says a lot!
Regarding the video of Tommy the turtle, dont be fooled by Everest's cunning use of a very realistic glove puppet.
Caro, Ive added some more inthe gallery just to show a bit of the gardens.
ere I hope you dont think we are Hilton employees trying to mug you into this
Well, my son and I just saw Tommy up at Swisscare again this afternoon. He's been up and down that reef very often this summer.
Still working on my husband to get him back to Egypt It might work as we have a very limited 'window' for our August holiday and this hotel seems one of the best value all-inc deals anywhere!! If I can't persuade him will just have to try this infamous place next time I go with my daughter or a friend ..... As much as I love Hurghada, it would be great to snorkel without spending a fortune on a boat trip (great though they are!).
Glad to read Tommy turtle still around. I saw a picture of a dolphin on Tripadvisor review - are there dolphins in Nuweiba or would the photo have been taken on a trip?
used to be sadly,......
Nuweiba was the home of a world famous wild dophin who regretably died in December 2004.
Sorry to hear that. Hope it was a natural death and nothing to do with us humans!

This is a picture of Olin taken just before she was found dead. It was taken by my wife off the beach at the Coral Hilton and we "think" it may be the last picture ever taken of her alive.

Such a shame about Olin,..
Don t know... but there was another dead dolphin washed ashore near the Elaria Hotel just over a month ago.
seeing a dolphin and being in the water at the same time well that would be just awesome.
I wonder if the litter and such that gets chucked over the side of the ferries has anything to do with it?
What a poignant picture but such a privilege to have been so close to them.
Whoosing swifly back to the original thread,..
Have you read Marks Eygpt trip report thread?
It shows Swiss` hotel and the stretch of beach where the best snorkeling is.
Wish I was there now, groan groan.
Do you think we should warn first timers to Egypt that holidaying there gets strangely addictive?

Only to those who accept a Marmite sandwich from Swisssinai, Caro!
