Hi,
we have just returned from Cuba, we stayed in Cayo coco. The dolphin excursion available to us from there with first choice was as follows.
Leave hotel at 8am, Travel by coach to Trinidad, this takes about 3 hrs including one refreshment stop. Guided tour of Trinidad and some shopping time, then to cienfuegos for another tour and more shopping, onto hotel on caribbean coast, lunch (at about 3pm!) then the rest of the afternoon is yours to relaxe. Next morning breakfast at hotel (this hotel is all inclusive) before heading over to the dolphin centre, this takes about 45mins. The morning is spent watching a show with the dolphins and then swimming with them. We thought the dolphins were kept in a good environment in sea pens in a bay, they had loads of swimming space and they had a baby dolphin born there just the month before and it was wonderful watching it swimming around with its mother. On the return journey you pass through santa clara and stop at the che guevara memorial. Then you head back to the hotel which again takes about three hours with a stop on the way for refreshments. Arriving back in cayo coco about 7pm. The whole trip is all inclusive, only drinks at the refreshment stop and the dolphin centre were not included. You can also buy large photos of yourselves swimming with the dolphins for 10pesos each.
The cost of this trip from cayo coco with first choice was 169 pesos for adults and 139 pesos for children, well worth every penny.
