Hi,
We're off to Protaras next month and bringing a friend's daughter to keep our daughter company.
Just wondered if we needed any documentation of some sort from her parents? Can't find anything on the net to suggest we do..
Thanks
Gav
you never know what complications may arise
just a few lines off them saying that they have give you permission may just save a whole load of myther and even if you never use it at least you've got it just in case
Something along the following lines should suffice. Just put in the names.
To whom it may concern.
We the undersigned confirm that YOU have our permission to take our SON/DAUGHTER to DESTINATION for the purpose of a holiday.
Signed Name & Address of parents/guardians and telephone number.
A note of caution. Should a child be subject to a court order regarding custody/access then you need to confirm that BOTH parties agree in writing.

We took our sons friend with us to Protaras last year, he was 13 at the time and even though we were never asked for it, we had a letter from his parents giving us permission to take hime out of the country. Better to prepared just in case...
Many thanks for the pointers.
We took our sons 11 year old friend to menorca last year, and never had any problems at all.
As long as you have verbal permission from one of the childs legal guardians and a returned flight is booked then you wont have any problems. Lots of people think that written permission is needed when verbal permission is suffice. For peace of mind get the written permission if it would make you feel better
I think written permission would be wise and save lots of agro. Imagine for instance you are asked (for whatever reason??) why this child doesn't have your name (or something?) and then want to know who said you could bring them abroad. Suppose his/her mum said it was ok and they want to speak to her.. can't get hold of her or worse still her husband (childs father) answers and is upset about it all (might have been having an argument or some such) and says NO you shouldn't have taken them.... etc etc
