Hi we are going here next august, 4 adults and 4 teens age 14-18. do we wear a wristband to get our all inclusive and if so are the bands different colours to sort the teens from the adults. i am very nervous about it myself especially the break ins, we have asked to be put on c side as i had heard these were more secure!!!

Everyone on all-inclusive wears a wristband. Anyone under 18 will get a child wristband so they can't get alcohol at the bar. However this can depend very much on who is on reception when you arrive. My son got an adult band because he said he was 18 (he's 17) and they didn't bother to check his passport, and there were a few other 17 year-olds who had managed to wangle adult bands at check-in. As long as they acted in an adult manner and didn't get carried away, nobody minded too much, and it was fine by me because I could send my son to the bar when I couldn't be bothered
They may have tightened up the rules now though - a large rowdy family arrived when we were there, they caused lots of trouble and some of the younger members had adult bands, which were then replaced with child bands after a disciplinary warning was issued to this family. So it's possible they might check for proof of age at check-in now.

We stayed on the C side, and didn't hear of any break-ins, however the A and B sides were virtually empty when we were there (quiet time of the year) and I wouldn't have liked to stay on that side. The C side is much better anyway, you're nearer the main pool and the entertainment and if the queue for the loo gets too much in the evening you can just nip back to your apartment.

Some awful reviews on these apartments, esp summer last year. Can anyone say for sure if things have improved? Seems to be that block c is the best and you take your life in your hands if you are placed in block b. We are going on 13 Oct. Not expecting the ritz and can cope with planes, ants and cats! Just want to know we are going somewhere clean, safe and hygenic! Any reassurance will be gratefully received!

The reviews for last summer (2006) were really off-putting and I wasn't sure whether to change our holiday, but I'm glad we didn't. Our holiday at the Caleta Dorada this Easter was one of the best we've had 8)
I think the hotel was just going through a bit of a bad patch in August 2006, it was the first peak-season after the big complex merge and I suspect there may have been teething troubles, but it all seems fine now. One thing you can say about bad reviews creating a bad reputation - the hotel will work their socks off to make sure it's never that bad again.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean, there were cleaners and maids working hard all the time, and any mess and dirt was the result of lazy yobs who couldn't be bothered using the bins
As I've said before, there were no break-ins while we were there. We stayed on C side - if you're worried you can always email or phone the hotel in advance and request a room on C side. We always closed our curtains, double-checked our locks and left our lights and TV on when we went out in the evening

Thanks for that cyberspacekadette
I did notice the worst reviews were last summer and was hoping it was just a bad patch, didn't realise that was when the merger was, makes a bit more sense now. Might just phone ahead, good idea - and about the tv too. Thanks again xx

Hi there, just thought i'd post a wee bit about the apartments as we have just returned on Sat 20th and I had reservations before we went due to mixed reviews. Well, we had a FANTASTIC time, the complex was well looked after and the staff were really helpful, food was good and didn't hear of any break ins. Apartments were as secure as any i've been to before.

We were on 'B' which were the ones that seemed to be getting the worst reviews, but we were very happy with whjat we were given, a bit of a walk to the entertainments in C block, but only about 5 mins and after all the food we ate (all cooked properly and very nice, plenty of selection) we could have done with it being further away!! B block pool was also a bit smaller and quiter and we tended to spend our time here as our kids are the age we like to keep an eye on them. B block didn't seem any less secure than A or C and we were quite happy to be in a quiter area.

We travelled with First Choice and they had plenty to do entertainment wise for the kids, as well as this the entertainment staff were around the pools 2 or 3 times a day offering quizzes, water polo, killer darts, crazy golf to name a few.

For the all inclusive the adults were given blue bands and the kids under 18 yellow, never had to wait too long for drinks at the bar and the complex seemed to be full.

Can't think of anything else to mention, just will say we had a nice holiday I think my husband and I are quite 'picky' but we would return to this complex again.

If I can help anyone with any queries, then I will happily do so

Hello, yes there is internet access, in the reception there are 2 or 3 computers, I didn't use it myself, so that's all I can tell you

I'd be grateful if you'd copy your review HERE please.

Many thanks.

We have booked to go here next year...anybody any idea where abouts the kids den rooms are.....

thanks

anybody any idea where abouts the kids den rooms are

Kids Den apartments are on the C side of the complex, near the main entertainment bar, the Chinese & Med restaurants, the large swimming pool with slides and splash park and near the kids shallow pool. In my opinion, C side is the best but some people prefer A or B side where it's a bit quieter, and nearer to reception and the main restaurant, but there are no Kids Dens on A or B side.

You should phone or email the hotel 2-3 weeks before you go to request apartments near to each other. CLICK HERE for the Turicomplex site and info/contact details.

Hi,
Have booked a weeks stay at this complex for end of April and will be requesting a room on section C as after reading several reviews seems to be best place to be. I would like to request a room that is NOT right next to the entertainment but at the same time is near to the pool, if that is possible? Can anyone advise on which number apartment I should request :)
Many thanks.

I have a photo of the map - it shows the room numbers. If you PM me I could email it to you - it's a large photo, so if I posted it on here, the size would be compressed too much to see the numbers.
