Crete or Cyprus will be warmer than Rhods and parts of turkey, you could also look at malta, best european weather though should be the canaries

Cyprus by far is the best place to go! Been there 9 times, going again next year for the 10th time. Can't wait!

want the weather not the price of most at the moment!!! this is going to be our cheap getaway. Still looking 8) Thanks for your replies. I know we can get one always been lucky a few weeks before going to book.

It should still be very hot in October in Cyprus. I went there in Oct one year and I was very lucky as it was still about 30 degrees. I'd definitely recommend Cyprus!

cheers  I'll keep my eye on some prices .

Hi debs, it is also a lot cheaper in October for Cyprus too. Are you looking for cheap but cheerful? We're going to Bellini Bungalows in Ayia Napa, its booked through Olympic Holidays. They are only 2* self catering but ive been told they are clean and tidy, and set back a short distance from the road so quiet too!

Try the Red Sea area of Egypt, you won't find better weather anywhere in Europe at that time of year

Look at http://www.eclipsedirect.co.uk as they sometimes have good deals.

I've just returned from the Conrad, Sharm (review posted) and would recommend it.

Cyprus stays into the 80's until around the last week of october but sometimes the weather hangs on into early november, Turkey try side, lara beach areas the weather here is still low 80's. The canaries will be in the 80's and this where the sun will be strongest Pick the right time to book because in england and wales half term falls in october and prices rocket, the first 2 weeks is best time for prices. Cypus and turkey will have the warmest sea's whereas the canaries the sea always seems freezing to me at any time of year. Red sea area will be the hottest place with temps ranging for the 80's to 100.

:D Gran canaria - when we went october it was red hot (Infact it was hotter than other hols we have taken in August!), plus there's plenty going on, no need to worry about the season coming to an end, - it's open all year round!

Hope you manage to get yourself sorted!

If you shop around, £450 per head should get you a decent AI in Tunisia at that time of the year. It probably won't be as hot as the Canaries or the Red Sea in early October but the weather will still be in the upper 70s/lower 80s and hence decent for sunbathing during the day though it will be cooler at night.

I too would go for Cyprus or any Canaries (Fuerteventura being my fave)
you have less chance of rain.

I've been to Cyprus in October and we had lovely weather.
We are giving Portugal a go this October.

Canary Islands or Egypt would be my suggestion. The hottest Canary Islands around that time of year are generally either Tenerife or Gran Can.
Enjoy!!

If you're going at the beginning of October then you'll avoid the higher prices charged for the school holidays at the end of October. Or you could consider the beginning of November, after the school hols, which would probably be even cheaper.
I'd say most places in the southern Med (Crete, Cyprus, Egypt) should still be scorchio in early October, but personally, I'd recommend the Canaries at any time of the year; and you'll get a better tan there because the Canaries are further south and nearer the Equator than anywhere in the Med
Fuerteventura has some fantastic beaches and a choice of good quality all-inclusive hotels. Gran Canaria (although not my personal favourite) also has some good all-inc hotels, and is the furthest south of all the islands, with the fantastic Maspalomas sand dunes at the southern tip.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions , i'm determined to get a 2week AI for beginning of october, for less than £800 i know some of you might think this a bit unlikely. Turkey looks the cheapest , with "On the beach" transfers not included. Been searching for days !!!! Trying to see if there is any letdown in prices with most TO,s, seems AI bit pricey this year, spose we've been really lucky in the past for some of our cheaper holidays 8)

have you tried pricing up diy,s this sometimes comes out cheaper and ive booked loads of all incs in turkey this way and always got good prices

I've also found d.i.y. invariably works out cheaper if you look around, and it also gives you more flexibility. For flights, have a look at the airlines' own websites, as I've just booked what I thought was a good priced flight through Travel Republic, using the promo code 'cardstudent', then found I could have got it even cheaper by booking direct with Thomas Cook.
