Thanks Linzi Lou!
Is it sad I have started packing already with 4 weeks to go
What is the temperature like at evenings? Would we need to bring a cardigan or similar?
Thanks
Is there a hairdryer in the room/bathroom? Is it a proper shaped one or one of those silly plastic tube things (if that makes sense )
Thanks!
You must be excited now!
There is a hairdryer in the room - in the desk drawer in the room. It's a proper shaped one, one that you have to hold the button down whilst using. Was powerful though and did the job and nice not to have to take one as well!
You'll be ok for temps as well, when I was there in September last it was warm in the evenings.
I'm dead jealous!
Thanks for that! will save me bringing one. I don't think I have ever looked so forward to a holiday, even my husband who hates the sun can't wait
Do you know if you can borrow an iron at the hotel? Really dont want to carry an iron (or buy a travel one) just to iron the clothes for the wedding as all the others will be fine rolled up in the case.
thanks
Yes you can. Speak to reception and they can arrange for housekeeping to send one to your room (and a board!)
Kezza, fantastic!! What would I do without you!
Seriously I hope you have a great time, have stayed there a few times now, it's a great hotel.
Kezza
While you're there, perhaps you could find out what happened to their webcam? Tell them how many people stuck in the UK got great pleasure from looking at the view throughout the year!
cud anyone tell me if the towels they supply you t use round the pool at the sunrise beach hotel can b taken to the beach t use there? and also how much the hotel are now charging ineuros for a pint of beer? thanx.
While you are waiting for answers to your questions, can I ask you not to use phone style text as per our Rules of Posting, cud instead of could, b instead of be, etc?

HI,, is there anyone out there who has stayed at the sunrise beach hotel in protaras, and been allocated a "FREE" side or full sea view room without pre booking it at the travel agents back home and having to pay the extra charges?? thankyou for any replies....much appreciated!!!!!!!!
Have stayed there before and dropped on a side sea view room 312 above reception, i would say hotel is best in Protaras.
read somewhere 3.8 euros a pint, will let you know for certain when i come back
In 2005 we paid 2,400 for a family room, in 2006 it was 2,500, in 2007 it was 2,550 and this year we were quoted 2,600 but decided to have a change and go to Egypt(never again but thats another story) anyway i couldnt wait to book for next year but the price with Thomsons is 3,895 !!! I thought they'd made a mistake but its expensive with everyone, even Portland. Ive also checked other hotels and they are all a lot more expensive than last year, does anyone know why, surely it has nothing to do with the euro....
probably not.. hotels are paid for in euro the euro has fallen by 20% Q.E.D.£2600 +20% [£520]=£3120 but on top of this is a hefty increase in fuel, there has also been a reduction in the number of flights [demand/availability] means they don't have to cut prices as much.. and before you say it all holidays in the euro zone are equally effected only the dollar zone [due to its weakness] is still a bargain
You could take the chance and book a normal room then email and see what they can do but it would not be guaranteed esp if the hotel is full and others have paid the extra.
Looking around there have been some neg reviews for this hotel this year, I hope they 'pull their socks up!' as we had a fab time here last year.
we have just returned from the sunrise beach and to be fair we couldnt fault it unless we were really nitpicking, no problems at all but it is expensive to drink in there so we didnt except on the day of the wedding, the indoor pool was a godsend in the 40 degree temperatures
We have been to Paphos 4 times(got married there in 2002) so it will will be nice to try the other side of the island
