I believe the train from Malaga only goes as far as Fuengirola. They are extending it, but that's a long way off yet until it's finished.

Work on the extension towards Marbella hasn't started yet. The first phase is to up-grade the entire Malaga-Fuengirola line to twin tracks. That is coming along nicely but isn't finished yet. When complete, there will be a train every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes at the moment.

Work on the western extension towards Marbella won't start until phase one is complete. It is due for completion in 2014 !

thanks guys, any advice on current taxi from airport prices, to cabopino (marbella), checked the older posts on a search but some of the links dont work and lots of various prices, im talking about the spanish taxis that sit outside airport not privately booked ones, thanks

There is a direct bus from the a/p to Marbella bus station. Then a taxi to Cabopino?

Taxi to Capopino from the airport my daughter paid 60 Euros for in June..Guess that has gone up because it is peak season now too?
