I am sure it aint possible to find a worse drink than Kinnie, its vile
well done goomark your well keyed up diet kinnie is without a doubt the most vile taste on the planet barring possibly paracetamol.
Just think if chips tasted like that?...... I'd loose a stone very quickly
But to be fair it's what you grow up with, my kids hate ginger beer and I can't explain Dandelion & Burdock

you cant beat ginger beer with lime and angusdurasbitters I dont see much dandilion and burdock around any more owing to the national cull on burdocks, O.k. british equivelant to kinnie what about possibly irn bru. Bearing in mind the british palate is possibly more sensative to sweets.
irn Bru is possibly just about drinakable..don't want to upset any scottish bretheren..my son loves the stuff but i think it is pretty vile. Who wants to drink something made in scotland from girders!!
Nowt wrong with Kinnie it's delish.
justval you got it in one brewed from girders, rusty old ones in the case of diet kinnie, thats the unforgetable taste. On another point of interest does anyone else get the impression that driving in Malta, even after many years experience in the uk makes you feel you have just started to learn all over again.
Nothing surprises me whatsoever. Last year I witnessed a great big ship's anchor that was being transferred by lorry so some place. It overhung the width of the lorry by at least 5 metres on each side and the only warning was a dirty rag pinned on each side No guessing what happened, a van was ripped in half
good point certainly improves awareness, maybe a week on maltese roads should be part of the uk test, or as a refresher course for the pensioners.
Perhaps we should introduce those lorries here then as we don't seem to have an indigenous predator to the white van in the UK
My brother just arrived from Manchester, take him back the black clouds are everywhere, where has the sun gone. Whoooo!!!.
personally i like the stuff but dont blame the malts for making it i was told it originated in Italy
I would just like to say I love to hate it, it is one of those sad things in life like a song you hear on the radio that you hate but it stays in your head all day long. Why do you always get a cold on holiday, you look forward to it for weeks and as soon as you finish work, just let your self go for a good time and bang a cold. You pick a nice hotel, look it up on Holiday Truths and when you get there they are building a big new one next door, with work men starting work at 6.30am but at least you can get your towel on a sun bed but when you go to the pool they are all gone as all the other holiday makers were up at 6.00am. Or you go out for what you hope will be a nice meal in a local restaurant pick a nice juicy steak and it always turns out that you get the one that is like boot leather and the bloke next to you could cut his with a plastic spoon. Then there's the trip out you have looked up in your guide book all the places you want to visit so you get on the local bus haveing been first in the line but as soon as the bus comes from no where 30 locals push you to the back and you end up standing all the way to the place you are going, only to find that it is closed on the day you go, and the next bus back is in 3 hours time. You look across the road and you see a sign that says Scottish Cafe, ah well at least you can go in there and have a nice cup of tea and a fairy cake. but when you sit down at a table the owner says I am sorry but we are closeing down today and all we have left to drink is diet Iron Bru
There is nowt wrong with irn bru...much..i am sure it is made from chiselled bits of rust from the forth road bridge!!!! My son loves the stuff. I personally have to disguise the taste a little bit with a large helping of vodka
to the .....real holidaymaker.........are you holding anything back....
most owned by expats trying to make a living with a dream of having a good time in the sun but find it is harder work in most cases than the job they left behind. So after walk down pub lane you see the same thing in each pub British beer at twice the price as you pay at home, food is pie and chips or bangers and mash and Sunday roast 7 days a week, entertainment in most of the pubs is Bingo, a singer doing a tribute to some one else and then when he's been on Karaoke till the police turn up.
So just were is the soul in a place like Palma Nova, well after a week there I never found it, don't get me wrong this resort has its fans and I must say me and my family had a great time and would go again. But were do you find the proper side to a resort, places like Malta have that soul. Just take a day out in the Three cities so much history looking you in the face even before you go through the gates or standing in the main square Vittoriosa knowing that you could be standing on the spot were Grand Master de la Valette once was or going into St Lawrence's church first built in 1090. You could say yes but what about Palma Mallorca it to has a lot of history but not as much as M dina or Valletta, some people could even say but what about Qawra and Bugibba they have not got much soul have they, built like Palma Nova a place just have fun, but wait did not a person called St Paul drop in here in 60AD and it does have a small Fort built by the Knights. Sliema although a town in its own right is said to be Malta's main resort, Named after a small chapel that fishermen would pray to the virgin Mary the first word of the prayer was Sliem (meaning, hail) although fish are hard to find in this part of the Med you do still see there boats and though much of Sliema has gone the way of a lot of holiday resorts with much of the old Sliema making way for big hotels and apartments it still has a soul round its back streets and the few sites that have managed no to fall to modern turisum. So again were does this all leave us in the love or hate side of a holiday, as in all things it is what you look for in a holiday, it would be a sad world if we all loved the same thing and a even sadder world if well hated the same thing.
