When hiring a car it is prudent to do so in advance. Try http://www.economycarhire.com or http://www.autosamigos.com (http://www.carjet.com have become quite expensive). Each uses the same companies.

Shop around among the sites I listed and you will get a good deal, I'm sure.

thanks for the reply, leprosy, will have a look at those sites, we are staying with friends in a town called el algar, anyone know it ?
we used their car last year, but they need it for work this time, so need to hire our own.
