As I keep saying we do have storms (sometimes) next month...you can ask anyone who lives here will tell you the same, in fact most of us here look forward to some rain, it has been a long hot dry summer again..

Dont get me wrong, i wont be moaning at a storm or to but on the whole my question was related to the average temperature hoping we get a good portion of it on the beach sun bathing in hot weather. 28 degrees is my ideal and we saw it hits that on the previous years weather data but cant confirm the accuracy of the data on http://www.wunderground.com

I was just saying how last October was...just hope (as it should) stay fine for you, maybe not those temps we are getting them at the moment, go see our webcam..on the link below, we also use weatherunderground, but I just poke my head out the door..

I have yet to see a cloud (literally) in Cyprus and i have only been in October.

Last year clouds and rain hit the whole of Europe for a week.

Everyone was coming back from their hols with nightmare weather stories.

The previous two years i had been to Cyprus and, as i said, yet to see a cloud

we were there for a week in sept 05 and it rained for about 3 hours on one day only. we were actually on fig tree bay at the time and could hear the thunder and see the fork lightening but it was still sunny and the bay was full, people only started moving when it came down heavy. we went to only fools and horses bar for the 3 hours then when the sun came out we went back to the beach had a swim then sunbathed ourselves dry. we are going to pernera for 2 weeks on the 6th october and what ever the weather it sure beats being at home!!! lindsay.

Damo have you not read the post's above yours? last October we had massive storms here, so bad they killed people...hopefully this October will be fine, but you just cant say it will be, it is lovely at the moment.

I was in Protaras last October when the big floods hit Paphos. We had a massive rain storm there too but it didnt have the effect it did in Paphos. We had one day when we were sitting on the beach in sunshine one minute, then the next minute this huuuuuge cloud came sweeping over and it tipped down! Also one evening we were sitting in the Bell and it suddenly poured down (like i have never seen before!). People were driving mopeds down the road with their feet up on the seats because the water got so deep, sooo quick! It was so funny because the local guys in the bar all went mental and started running about in the street, playing in the rain. It was clear that they were glad for the rain.

Now, thats the horror story out the way. The upside is that out of 14 days those two incidents were the only ones that really affected the holiday. We still got very hot sunbathing weather for the majority of the holiday. It does get dark about 6pm which was a bit of a downer and it cools quite quickly. Not too cold that you cant go out in short sleeves though.

Im going back in October this year so thats a fairly good indication as to how much the rain bothered me. You do have to be prepared though.

Have to say if it rained at this moment I would go and stand in it!! we have had no rain since May I think..

Were in Protaras last year too 15 - 22nd October.
Arrived just after the big storm, and only had couple of instances of light rain at night. Lovely during day..short days yes...but lovely.

I know Jim, we were there for it. It was running down the road in rivers. Think we had 2 days and 2 nights absolutely solid with "big rain". Knocked all the pools out as well

You just forget when you are here, it's been so long, it will be great to see some rain, clean everywhere down, so dusty...

im off to Protaras in October 24th - 31st,
Me & my family have been going to cyprus for 10 years now and parents been going for 22 years (now living there) weve been to Cyprus in October once before the weather was lovely one day it rained out of the two weeks we were there well it rained so bad that people were going down the main strip on lilo's !
Could anyone tell me what type of clothes to bring on the nightime now hopefully no-one says jakets
Just come back from Cyprus beginning in September and it was SO hot hot hot! same in May when i went out !

Oh also just remembered aswel parents has just this minute got off the phone & said it hasnt rained since Febuary apparently 2 Days of rain in one year !

Were is over here its more like 2 days of sun !
