[Jimbox]Well slime actually last October it was monsoon weather, it did a lot of damage to hotels and private properties, some lost there swimming pools near us and two lost there lives,

Yes I would say that was a monsoon, certainly I have never seen weather like it in my life, anywhere in the world.

Oh yes the sun does not always shine here as the holiday reps like to tell you..

Nice at the moment though..

Sorry Jimbox i guess i didnt explain that properly. In one of my previous posts i said i was in protaras at the same time paphos was being demolished by the floods.

When i said the weather wasnt that bad i just meant that in terms of the average 4 days out of 30 not being that bad. I realise that when it does rain it really, really, really rains..... a lot!

Looks like Protaras is due for a couple of drops at the end of the week according to Metcheck.com

Update 7pm tonight..

Weather breaks, first rain this summer, followed by a short sharp thunderstorm is just passing over the Pafos area, most welcome drop of rain, but hardly damped the dust, but the forecast was spot of from WU..

We started the morning off walking into Pernera Bay from the Rising Star and I'm now stuck in Marlita Beach (I've made that sound a bad thing), daughter is asleep and me & hubs sitting with a KEO because its raining.

It needed it though its been Red HOT this morning, so humid and I burnt yesterday.

Trev, morning.
I am no prophet of doom mate, I would not have relocated to Cyprus if I was..

It has not rained here since early May and believe me we are desperate for heavy rain, so far this has not happened, but I speak the truth if you wish me to talk holiday talk and lie I just will not do that, do not forget I was a holiday maker for 54 years!! would you rather here rep's talk? or from someone who just has to look out of his window to see the weather?

I do run a sort of ex-pat forum but we do have a live weathercam (what we call it) just for those living abroad (UK mostly) I run it from my humble home for the benefit of those who do not live here, cant see that on any holiday company's web site...so we ex-pats can be of great help to you, if you can take the truth that is

David (admin) weatherunderground actively encourage you posting there weather forecasts.
As you may know I run a very large web site mostly on my own and have on many occasion's used there service and they love you to do so, I would never post protected material, do as I do and contact them and see for yourself if they object!! they won't!!

regards all from a clear cool morning in Paphos..(not reps talk) 8)

Hi jimbox ... yes, I appreciate that they may possibly agree, if we ask for permission for reproduction. But as yet, we have not sought or obtained any permission from them and without that, their T&Cs allow reproduction for personal and non-commercial use only, hence the post had to be edited to protect our interests. Any permissions which you may have relevant to your site may not be applicable to material which you choose to reproduce on our site. As you may know, some organisations are only too quick to come down on us like a ton of bricks, if any of their material is reproduced without their prior consent. But we may well get in touch with Wunderground now to seek permission.
