acsbj14,

Has your flight changed both ways or just the return?

April for next July

Cannot help you with regard to refunds. You could try writing - spending time on the telephone listening to the rites of spring, whilst waiting for someone other than a computer to speak with you will cost more than you are trying to get back.

Your problem is not a new one on HT - Booking so far in advance is always a gamble. The basic problem is that they are waiting confirmation that they can get the take off/landing slots that they want. The times advertised are subject to change and will no doubt be covered in the terms and conditions.

I have booked a holiday to Spain for next May. 24 hours after booking the flight time changed - I am confident that it will change again. That is the way of things.

Yes the flights have changed bith ways.

The flights we booked were:
Outward 07.30 Inward 19.05 Flight supplement £79

The flight we could have booked was:
Outward 06.30 Inward 13.40 Flight supplement £55

TheThe flight they have put us on mow:
Outward 07.50 inward 11.45 Flight supplement no change

As said we booked the original flight as it enabled us to have another half a day in the resort and were prepared to pay the higher flight supplement but now as the don't have that flight I don,t see why we should pay £79 a head as the new flight is closer in times to £55 a head.

Are you saying the price of the flight is £79.00 or the flight supplement is £79.00 ?

The timings are within whats is allowed and does not constitute a major change so no refund or compensation. Which airline is it ?

Kind Regards

Are the above from the same airport as I'm wondering why they have a flight leaving from the same airport to the same destination with only an hour between them ?

Im assunming this is a thomas cook flight .sounds like part of the consolidation of thomas cook and my Travel

I'm guessing there is no longer a 7:30 flight! Also no later in the day flight anymore!
It probably is in with their terms and conditions which go something like this:
'We are allowed to **** you in the *** right up until your holiday starts and theres nothing you can do about it' p.s. do you want to buy your currency from us?

If you tried to book the flights now what would the supplement be?

Because your outgoing flight is now a 'better' time rather than a 4.30am check in (though not all that much better) the supplement may well not be reduced to the £55 for that reason.

Yes they are flight supplements and not flight costs and yes it is Thomas Cook.
I argee yes they can change the flights but to still charge a £79 flight supplement for a flight that we are not even going on stinks! I don't know what it is now but the reason we book so early is to get the best flights and price in school holidays. We get screwed enough especially being a family of 5. Then losing the best part of 7-8 hrs of our holiday and still charge us £120 more than if we had booked comparable flights back in April just makes me mad. They can't with draw a service and keep the money surely. But as you all say they are protected by their terms and conditions.
Thanks for all your replies.

Next year why not look at doing DIY with one of the budget airlines - from what I've seen so far their times rarely change you might find it cheaper also.

Thats interesting, I would have taken the ealier -free- flight - nothing worse that hanging around a resort having been turfed out of your accomodation at midday and then having a midnight drive home, yuck!

Do you have the flight numbers of the examples shown? The 07:50 sounds like you original flight slightly tweaked (which happens all the time and could equally change back again before you go!) and has probably got the original number. However, the difference in the return flights suggests that the original one has been cancelled and you've been transferred to a different flight. Just to complciate things MYT flight numbers may be changed as the airline is absorbed into Thomas Cook, you would need to know whether it was a geniunely new TC number. The T&Cs usually say a flight can be retimed by 12 hours but if it's been cancelled you should have had the option to a refund or transfer. The trouble is that still doesn't answer the supplement question completely but might be something to build on.
