Anyone got any views on this new service on flights to The Canaries.

jim98,

I've not used Plus and for £25 outbound and £20 inbound, I don't think I will be! Lounge access is approx. £17 at British Airports and if you check-in online for £2.50 e/w, you can select your seat and beat the queues anyway. The only benefit I can see is the use of fast-track security (outbound only) which at peak times might be useful. The meal is probably just the £5 meal deal which is available onboard. Thanks Darren, I agree. We have already booked our seats so it would be a case of poor grub and a few 'free' drinks. Hardly worth £90.

Looks like Jet 2 are "pulling" the connection between Manchester and Amsterdam. Not widely advertised - bit naughty!

has anyone else "won" a free return flight in jet2's name the place competition? As it can't be used in school holidays it's not a lot of use to me! And it's non transferable so I can't even give it to one of my sons. Obviously a case of no such thing as a free lunch!

murgy,

They do fly over that period but it depends on your departure and destination airports as to whether they offer a suitable flight on your chosen day.

murgy,

LBA-TFS is currently on sale up to Fri 31st October 08 so you'll have to keep checking when they release flights. They fly on a Tuesday and Friday during the summer season but you'll have to wait and see what they release for the winter season. The current winter season includes a Saturday flight so you might be lucky.

I see that jet 2 have now gone into the Inclusive Tour market...and also the share prices have taken quite a considerable hit. Quite a number of routes have been axed as already publicised in HT forums.

Just.......interesting!

When you book flights with jet2.com is the luggage allowance included or is it extra like some other airlines? Can you add infant later after original booking, as daughter is due baby in may.

shamus,

You need to select the baggage you require when entering your details (after you've selected the flights you want to book). Hold luggage is a chargable extra. Once you've booked your flights, you can add extras such as luggage using the online system. You'll be able to add another passenger at a later date but depends on if the flight is full or not. I would give Jet2 a call to discuss your options because I doubt they'll let you book an extra seat for an infant without an adult at the same time. I think I know where you are coming from; you can't book the infant seat because you don't know the name or date of birth yet? If you give Jet2 a call, they might let you book the infant seat with provisional details and change them (maybe chargable) when the little one arrives. Anyone under the age of 2 don't require their own seat and will be sat on the parents knee in any case.

Has anyone taken out Jet2's travel insurance? It seems good value for money. Less than £10 per person for eight days. Anyone done any comparisons? Any views?

Thanks :)

hi, I have flights booked for malaga from blackpool for this july, thse were booked in january, after going through the booking process, I decided to just check one suitcase into the hold thinking it would be enough for the 3 of us for 2 weeks, I'm now panicking thinking I won't be able to fit everything in ( you know what us women are like, why pack 3tops when you can pack 20 ! ), so can I now add another case online or will I have to wait till I check in at blackpool ?
many thanks for any replies,

juby 5,

You can do it online. If you log in to your online booking, you can change the baggage allocated to passengers from nothing to whatever you need. Jet2's service out of BLK is pretty good, I was impressed last June. Chances are, you'll be travelling on G-CELJ, Jet2's resident BLK aircraft!

thanks for your swift reply darren, I'll do that. Yes, we've flown to murcia from blackpool with jet2 and thought it was great, nice smiley crew which you don't always get and the airport is fab ( only 3 quarters of an hour travelling for us ).
cheers

Have just booked my flights for summer with Jet2 to Murcia!

Have never used Jet2 before and the process was straight forward enough. I have already done the paying bit but I am now being asked to select my seats. Do I have to do this? It looks like there will be a further charge to pre select seats. Is this optional? It's not clear. I'm a bit confused now. :que

candida,

There's a dedicated thread for Jet2 with lots of information. Select your seats and online check-in are optional. You can arrive at the airport and check-in at the allocated desks as normal or as I normally do, select my seat (6A/F on the 737-300 and get the window view I want) and beat the check-in queues by using online check-in. Much easier.

EDIT: Mods beat me to it by about 2 seconds and moved it!!
