Hi All
Just a quick reply regarding upgrades, We wanted to go back this year, end of March in fact for two weeks, I emailed the hotel and explained we had been I think five times now and were always upgraded to a bungalow at no extra cost I even sent photo's, so to my surprise and major disappointment they offered me a free upgrade to a bungalow at a cost of $185 per night :que , add that cost to the cost of the flights and I was looking at a total cost of over £2.000 for two of us :( , needless to say I will not be returning to the hotel for a long time if that's going to be the case and more importantly if this is how the management has changed, so I booked Marsa Alam very similar to Nuweiba I am told and it may just be as good, I will let you know. going the 2nd April for two weeks, one things for sure we will have a great time.
Well have a great time at your second home but i will not be ripped off.
Happy hols

I'm not back this year... Off on honeymoon to the Maldives in September this year and a cheap week in Tenerife in May...

So tell me about the Russian's rules... They were the only downer during our last visit in September...

Hi Kosh Russian numbers at any one time have been cut down, they are not allowed to sit at beach bar all day must take drinks back to sunbeds, and are all warned that if they upset any guest they will be thrown out no ifs or buts. seemed to have worked in jan, so will see how it is in march.

Noticed in the Sunday Times that Longwoods are advertising the Coral as HALF BOARD

Have they always done this ???????? Can't believe I've missed it previously!

Any comments / thoughts on this ? Is it a sign of things to come ?

Wendy you'll soon be there so how about a bit of sleuthing in between sunbathing sessions.

Hi, Apple,
In all the times that we have been to the Coral, like you, we have never heard of half-board being offered. I have seen Egyptian and Israeli guests stay there for one night on B&B basis during "quiet" periods.

The system of coloured bracelets would be quite difficult to operate, I think, if they offered half-board. We never wore ours anyway after the second visit! I'm sure Dolphin will investigate this and report back with the answer.

Longwood site not showing all inclusive as an option for Dec 2008!! This does not bode well!!

Thats a surprise, Bex! Just did a quick try for a booking with Expedia for next Xmas and they're still offering it AI. Maybe Longwoods just haven't decided on a price yet?

Think you are right. Just text Russell and he said he hadnt been told any different. Also that the advert in the paper related to HB at the Hyatt which was in same advert. Panic over!!

I think it's just the Longwood haven't released their 2008/9 brochures/prices yet. So the website goes up to October - far as I can see anyhow.

The Coral is one of a chain of Hilton resort hotels that are All-inclusives.

It will be in the summer that's for sure :cheers :sun2

hi . only 2 weeks to go now . so time to sort out the diving for my family . does anyone have the email address for the dive centre on site at the coral . Im aware that its emperor, but can anyone advise if its likely to be cheaper to book ahead for the 4 of them and whether they would be likely to go to any areas from there that would require visa.
