I know this may sound awful but are there any particular months of the year when the russians don't visit as much, I have read that they come to escape their cold winters.I am concerned because we have stayed at the german owned Neptune hotel in Kos and there were hardly any other nationalities there and we felt very uncomfortable. Also completely changing the subject is budweiser readilly available in hotels and restaurants because my other half isnt coming if its not, he refuses to drink local lager and in Cyprus would rather pay £5.00 for a bud than 80p for Keo or Leon....... I dont really care if you can get it or not because i am going to lie to him anyway if you cant...................
Thanks for your help in advance
Claire..........
I was at the Conrad in August last year and there were many Russian guests, none of whom caused any concern for us.

Anyone know about the availability of budweiser in hotels ????
We stayed at the Hilton Sharks Bay AI a couple of years ago over the New Year period and there was a huge influx of Russians, and personally found the general attitude left a lot to be desired, particularly with regard to food. The rep from Libra holiday actually said "The Russians are arriving tonight, hard times ahead".
you might have a problem with the bud ,learn to lie
I shall never forget the time me and my wife were musing over a large plate of cakes wondering which one to have. Suddenly a large russian put his arm across my wife picked the whole plate up and took it over to a table where his wife and 2 kids were. Needless to say they left 3/4's of the plate. Greed and ignorance are not their best virtues I'm afraid. I could have made an issue of it but what was the point.
thanks for your replies, I guess we'll just have to put up with them but i'm still hoping it won't be too bad in June and also our hotel isn't AI and i read they tend to stay in AI hotels so we may be ok....
Just asked hubby and he seems to think that he had Bud in our hotels Mexican restaurant last year, so (if he's not imagining it

was probably cheaper, so he could have more of it. LOL.

Thats more than likely the answer, Doe!![]()

I would also think it would be very expensive as are many imported drinks in Sharm.
Surely they have it in the Hard Rock and TGI's ? Oh I forgot you haven't got either of those in Nuw.... Nuwe.... Nuweb.... that place you all go to. Do I hear a 'Thank God' in the distance, heading this way.

Tried to buy our dive guide a Heineken last summer in Dahab - thought she would prefer it, but insistd on Sakara instead. Better than the imported stuff apparently - and cheaper...

Ooh PS - Russians, Autumn time.
Russians can be rude, but the italians are worse and the french. russians always wear wedge shoes, and the italians high heels, even on the beach

Yes, I'm afraid that the only recogniseable ale on sale at the pub in Nuweiba, is Heineken, and thats brewed in Egypt!

I tend to stay well clear of Russians on holiday since the time I was forced to watch one wet himself as he sung a song on karaoke night in front of a hundred or so people. The next morning he was curled up on a sunbed outside the restaurant at breakfast time, still wearing his soiled outfit.

I have a treasured and cherished memory of sitting betwix a Russian family and an Italian family at breakfast in the C. Plaza.
The first were consuming enough to keep a small African nation going for a month at one sitting, including about 20 eggs each

This lead me to the conclusion that things probably balance themselves out in this life or at least at the breakfast table.
