yes one of my turkish friends thinks i am his gf i dont get why they think so diff to us. I did have a fun time as u call it but i did say i cant have a bf so far away shame i hadnt read this advice first. I was bit on a relationship rebound think but i do enjoy having him as my friend from past hols etc. I do like him but i know i am not exactly gonna get married n have kids with him.

p.s gem i know ur topic has been discussed but i did actually go to see my friend on my own in jan for 1 week he came to see me as he lives 12 hours from where i go on holiday, I hadnt had a romance with him because when we first met i was there with my ex bf and my brother but we stayed in touch and then when me and bf split up i decided to go over for a hol to de stress and he just came to see me. He doesnt seem a player now but obv i dont believe that he prob isnt as hes already told me he was when he was younger lol

Found out he was a major player... am so glad I did not go! found a video of him dancing on you tube and found commets from a girl saying she was getting married to him! since found out he has about 10 girls on the go.... will not fall for a holiday day romance with a local again! x

god no way haha he has a you tube video and my space and everything, some of them dont know what my space is. Its so hard to tell the good from the bad you just do not know xxx

Well Gem on 9th Nov when you said you had had the "best holiday ever" and he had asked you to go and spend a week with him in March I said "do you honestly think he will be on his own waiting for you for 5 months?"

This is not a romance it is a profession, a way to get a British visa & into the English Benefits system, once here the marriage miraculously 'hits difficulties'.

If you dress in a provocative way you will encourage men to make advances to you. If you give out "available" signals you will be approached my just about every waiter you pass. But, if you cover up a bit and respect yourselves, you will get respect from the men. They are all looking for a wealthy foreign woman to get attached to becuase its the only way to improve their life. I agree with what lindirobby says about the way girls dress. I lived in Bodrum for a few years and I always dressed repectctfully, that isn't to say I covered myself up from head to toe but unless I was actully on the beach I didn't walk around in a bikini, and I never walked round in skirts so short that I practically showed my bum or tops so low that I nearly fell out of them but then girls dressed like that are asking for all the attention aren't they....?

Also it's true that a lot of the resort workers are after something when they go with a foreign woman, be it sex, money, gifts, visa etc. Saying that I have been happily married to a Turkish man for 5 years so it can work, but then I never spent long times apart from him as I was in Turkey.

Don't suppose anyone has any positives stories about the turkish lads? if so whats your situation?
I am certainly not the typical easy english girl having a fling with a turk, i'm not stupid, have a good head on my shoulders and don't really accept any attention from the turkish lads. I often get called 'difficult' when im there which i take as a compliment as some of the girls in turkey make me embarassed to be english.
Its just that I have been with a turkish boy for almost two years, we are both 18 and appear to be serious about each other and the stories I hear are particularly disheartening...

hey!of course there can be positive stories lol, but much easier to give the negative ones lol!!! some turkish guys you meet are just prats and wanna see what they get.......but there are some genuine ones of course, you just gotta take a chance sometimes! i met my bf in 2006 and married a year later! he has just done 15 months in army and i am going to spend season with starting may,cant wait!!! he has never asked me for anything though of course i sometimes get him stuff, not much though,money doesnt grow on trees! but he tells me stories of when he was younger and what it was like :-O lol and i see what some of his friends are like.......but you will always get guys like this no matter where you go wont you!you cant tar them all with the same brush huh!anyway think ive went off on a tangent, i think im just so used to having to defend myself and my relationship here lol!take care and have good hols this year xxx
