Deb,

Another alternative might be Cirali... if flying to the Antalya airport...seems to fit what you are looking for as a nature lover..If you are looking for a more out of the way or off the beaten path place then Cirali would be the best bet away from the '' package tours or holiday hordes '' A great little village located 80 kms southwest from Antalya, nice clean 4km beach, ruins of Olympos and the flames of "Chimaera".

But Cirali may not be for everyone as it does not have the waterparks, horseback riding, parasailing etc etc but it is close by to the town of Kemer ( a resort ) and Tekirova..about 30 minutes away by bus.. that has many of these types of activities. Locat transportation can be easily arranged. Or you can rent a jeep, car, quad bikes, bikes etc to explore the nature and there are even some organized tours available as well but not to the grand scale that they are in other places. Great place to hike, take boats trips etc...public transportation is available but maybe not as frequent as other local towns or cities...but not impossible to get out and about...a car is not needed staying in Cirali..most everything is acessible by bike or foot.

Not to many people are informed about this little village. You won't find Cirali like any of the places normally mentioned in this forum. No mass tourism or 5 star hotels. Just nice family own hotels and pansiyons. Small shops, quiet bars, restaurants, and no discos.

Some may find Cirali too quiet but that is what makes it special...
Also my photos from the area.

How about rafting

I love the sound of this myself but haven't quite got the courage, the most exiting holiday we do is a gulet trip, when you stay on a boat and sail about.

Paragliding off Mount Babadag is also one not to miss while you are in Turkey (I did do that)

Try looking at Datca. There are very few package deals there so you must be confident to do it yourself. I recommended hotels on another thread recently. There is a diving school and a windsurfing school, you can also take daily gulet trips and snorkel from the boat. It is a quiet resort with a harbour that wakes up at night with some great restaurants. There are plenty of walks to do and mountains to discover. The ancient city of Knidos is nearby and worth a trip.
