Hi
Can't remember my exact bids but they were similar to the bids that people had won recently on http://www.biddingfortravel.com I think about £90 or so a night. I just don't think the availability is released yet - can't even get after June on their website! That's not a bad thing in a way though as they're holding the availablity high meanwhile !!!
I did it on http://www.priceline.co.uk - you can't bid on .com one if you're in the UK.
I thought you couldn't bid on .com from the UK, but read on another forum that you can put in a fake US address and they don't check it. I was afraid to do that as it wouldn't have tied in with my credit card address so I chickened out.

When you bid you get an email as well as the on screen reply. The email confirms the bid in $, the screen is in £. From the bids I have made in £ and from looking at http://www.biddingfortravel.com I am sure the prices compare. My winning bids have been right in line with other people's.
Oh, forgot to say - I've ordered my $ from Crown Currency Exchange for September delivery at 2.03 to the pound. Was it you who used them Luci? Was the date reliable?
Got an offer from the Wynn and they are $389.
No problem with CCE. I've ordered 3 times from them and they were delivered on the exact date they said by Royal Mail Special Delivery. I ordered for delivery in October for our November trip at $2, but as the rate at the time of our trip was well over $2 we didn't use them and just took cash out of the ATM's. We got $2.08-$2.09. Will be using them in April.
I see the dollar is up to $1.99 today for the first time in months.

Just bear in mind that you are happy with the price and that is the main thing. What's a fiver if it would have risked missing out!
When do you go? I'm sort of thinking that we have 6 nts at Orleans, 2 at Platinum, then we have 5 left still to book....I would quite like something North central strip as this is where we spend most time. I'm thinking TI or Mirage as cheaper options (only if Mirage renovations are well under way and we have good chance of getting renovated room!)...or if the deals are there then maybe Venetian or Palazzo and I quite fancy Wynn but hubby isn't so keen (too far north). I also wouldn't have minded Caesars but worry that we'd get flung out the back somewhere and also their standard rooms don't look great, and their rates don't seem to be great. Best offer so far is $134 for TI but on a non-cancellable rate. I'm not going to jump at that. I notice that TI petite suites at $200 actually look nice...but I'd want it cheaper as we got Venetian for $129 in 2006...so I want something comparable! Will see!Not going till September so plenty of time.
We go on 24 April, but our3 nights at the Palazzo are 4 & 5 May. Will be trying the $20 trick and will have to remember to mention it's my birthday!
Caesars Palace Tower rooms are very nice and I got an offer from $100/night. This was available for the dates we have booked at MGM and I was tempted to change, but it would be double the price and I'm quite looking forward to trying the MGM so will stick with it.
Saw a really good offer for the Penthouse Suite at Mirage for, I think it was, $179. Would have jumped at that had the dates been right.

That's probably less than 8 weeks then....wish it was me! I go to Paris around then (on the 26th). Wish it was Paris LV though! lol!
I'm just too early for deals but I know what I will be considering. I already have Orleans at $114 on the saturday then $57 on the next 5 nights. Cancellable as it's direct but I'm quite happy with that. Then we go to Platinum for our 2 weekend nights. While at Orleans we plan to fly over to San Francisco - maybe on my birthday or just before. We will have a car also, for about 3 days or so and will give it back the day we transfer to Platinum. I did see that Mirage and TI seem to have some nice upgrades - I wonder if these would compare quite nicely with the Venetian. I think some of them have jacuzzis too. I really do like the pool at TI so I'd be tempted. I'll be searching all the deals when they start to come out.
Do you have any plans regarding shows/meals etc? Do you know about the 20 or 25 point deal at Wynn. 2 free buffets when you get either 20 or 25 points (not sure which)....all you need to do to get 20 points is cycle $60 through a slot machine. On lvtalk it is recommended that you play video roulette - $30 on black, $30 on red and $2 on 0. All in the one spin and you can only lose about $2 I think it is. Then you get 2 free buffets. I think I'd rather play $1 red and $1 black at a time, take the chance with the 0, and then hopefully get a free drink too!
We already have Wynn Red Cards so don't qualify for the free buffet unless we earn 500 points.

Aw. Thought I was passing on a good deal for you there...never mind.
You can get the Orleans for $30/night at the moment. If anyone's interested I could dig out the link.
Also, I can't remember if you were one of the Harrah's buffet fans before (I sent to people on here some coupons before, but can't remember who - think pebbles was one)....anyway....on ebay there are 2/1 coupons that look like the $5 off ones that are cut off the bottom of a card. I've enquired with the seller about postage for multiple buy - just to see what they say. Currently showing as $5.99 postage, plus $1 for the coupon. Might still be worth it anyway. Think dinner is $22.99....and 2x$5 off makes it $35.98 for two plus tax. Trying to work out how much these coupons are worth, given that $5 off ones are readily available in Carnaval Court during the day.
I think I'll take the chance at getting the Harrah's coupons at Carnival Court. We picked up quite a few last year and I passed on the ones I didn't use.
Failing that I can book through Tix4Tonight as their deal is the same as getting $5 off.

I contacted the ebay seller and the reply was that they would do 3 for $18 total. I'm sort of thinking that's worth it. Means total cost for 2 at dinner is $28.99 + tax (including cost of coupon)......and with the $5 off it's $35.98 + tax. I'm never sure if you pay tax on the discount too - I remember going to the Riviera Comedy Club and thinking their 2/1 tickets weren't really working out 2/1 as if they added a bit but maybe that was fees rather than taxes.
One interesting thing I found is TI Petite Suite at $199. I think this might compare well to the Venetian maybe??? Looks good, and good reviews too. We've stayed in the normal rooms at TI before they were recently refubished and we liked it. I liked the pool with the big jacuzzi....
I think we want North Strip, as we are doing 6 nights at Orleans, 2 nights at Platinum, then these will be the last 5 nights. I'm thinking TI, Venetian, Palazzo....I was thinking maybe even Wynn but hubby isn't keen.
Got a good deal on a Flamingo GO Room, Strip view $115 per night 14-19th Sept. Have booked that just now, fully cancellable though.
Lesley, remember to take photos of all your rooms and post them in the Photo Gallery. It will help members thinking of staying at any of the places.
Will do Luci, I had forgotten about the photo gallery - been a long time since I looked. Might have a look now!
I like the atmosphere at the Flamingo but the pool will be the coldest you have EVER been in!!
TC
Is it really cold? Might be a reason for me to reconsider to be honest. I really like TI because they've go the huge warm jacuzzi. Is there any heated section in the pool?
