Come off the M4 at Heston, take the A3005 towards Heston/Hounslow, then the A4 towards central London. Osterley station (Picadilly line) is on your left, with a large "park & ride" car park. Get off the tube at Leicester Square or Covent Garden, with a short walk to the Strand.
thank you doonhammer!!
If there isn't, how about at Victoria station? Is there a McDonalds there? It's years since I went to London by train!
I know London will be very busy due to it being the marathon the following day
Thank you.

well head west, you come to Kensington High Street and there are some fast food places there.
It's about a 15 minute walk I guess.
Whe we go to the Albert Hall, we like to eat in a Cuban restaurant

but this might be more expensive than you were planning......
Hope you have a good time
Sounds ideal, thank you.Acorncup wrote:

Just out of interest, where have you sat in the RAH? We've got seats in the Circle, Block U. I've seen a few photos of the view on Flickr and although it's very high up, I'll be right opposite the stage. Have you ever sat in the Circle seats?Acorncup wrote:When we go to the Albert Hall

Am looking for any hotels outside the congestion charge i don't mind walking into London any help would be appreciated ..also needs to have a car park
Thanks Mabs
In November I have tix for Dirty Dancing as I am taking my sister for her 40th birthday.
Now I want to stay somewhere really nice, and have been racking my brains for 5* luxury hotels.
I have tried Ritz, Dorchester, Claridges and Savoy (but that's closed for refurb til Jan 2009).
The prices vary a lot....Ritz want £495 for 1 night
Ideally I want to spend no more than £350 but would like vat and breakfast included.
Any suggestions. Oh and a spa or pool would be nice too (don't want toooo much do I) !!!
Hi i have been to see dirty dancing it really is a great show, you will have a fab time. How about staying at Renaissance Chancery Court London.
I'm thinking of meeting up with some fellow gig-goers prior to the Royal Albert Hall gig on Saturday.
I won't be eating, just having a drink or two and getting to know some messageboard members.
Any opinions?
Thanks.

I can now highly recommend this pub for pre-gig drinks. Only a few minutes walk from the Royal Albert Hall, reasonable prices and very friendly bar staff
Whereabouts do you need to be in London? The congestion charge covers a wide area, and depending on where you need to get to I doubt you'd be able to walk it from outside the CC area.
You'll also have difficulty parking outside the area as nearly everywhere in Greater London is Permit Holders only, or very expensive meters (which only last up until 2 hours sometimes). So yes you're right, you'll need a hotel with a car park. Where exactly will you need to get to in London?

If you're staying in London at the weekend you can often get special deals at the top hotels. I know the Dorchester are doing some very good ones this year - all the Park Lane hotels are luxurious so I would try those if I was you.

Dont really mind which part ..we stayed at the Ramada in North Acton in March and made our way in by bus so dont mind doing that again but not that far out this time ...it took us 1 hour to get into London on the bus
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Mabs
Which part of London do you need to get to? As you know, London is huge so it's difficult to recommend a hotel not knowing where you want to get to. Is it Central London? West? The City?
Is it essential that you drive to London? It would probably be simpler to take the train. Most of the hotels which have car parks are usually on the pricier side. I'm not really sure what you're looking for.
If you can tell me your budget, which area you need to get to, and if it's essential you drive I can offer you more suggestions.
Regards

Would like to be around the west end of london ...its essential we use the car ..would go up to £100 a night or less if poss
Thanks Mabs
I'm sorry but I really wouldn't know where to suggest............perhaps you should Google for a hotel that meets your requirements.
Car parking charges are horrendous in London, and any hotel with parking facilities in London will charge you anything between approximately £30/60 (maybe more) a day on top of your room. You'll also have to pay the congestion charge every day if you drive inside London Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 6.30pm
Maybe try some of the Holiday Inn's, Thistle Hotels - they're always reasonable and usually have car parking facilities.
Hope you sort it out!

Hi Strawberry7
could anyone recommend one?
We are actually going to Earls Court the next day for an exhibition, but wonder if it would be easier to stay near Euston as we will be travelling by train to London and need to store luggage for the day
you could try the Hilton it's very close to Euston not sure wether it meets your criteria tho'
