Hi all

:welcome to all newbies and congratulations to those who have lost and better luck next week for those who have not.

Well everyone thats mothers day out of the way :D

I stayed in mothers day, stuck to plan 100% and lost 0.5lb I am TOTALLY GUTTED!!!!!! :cry Its sooooooooo disheartening when there is a lovely day like mothers day to have a day off plan and spoil yourself and if you gain or maintain then its not to bad but to stick to it no matter what and then lose 0.5lb is just :swear . So much for my sea kelp helping out.

I am off to do myself in :sulk

alsbaby - Don't do it.....

It's happened to me many times, I've been really good some weeks, eg having no syns and sticking to the plan all week and then sometimes losing .5lb or once putting ON ....... There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. But overall we all do lose some weight and it all does add up at the end of the day. STICK at it, it will be worth it when we are sunning ourselves in our bikinis......

Well I put on 1lb this week :( I'm sad but not suprised after my curry (and not a good weekend on the whole) but it is annoying how easy it is to put on a lb and how hard it is to lose one!
Oh well back to it, only 2 weeks til hol.
Well done to everyone that's lost this week. Irene, brilliant news that you've hit you're target :tup Fab news for you too sandyglen, enjoy the clothes shopping, sounds like my type of pass time!! :)
To everyone that hasn't lost, keep going it'll be worth it in the end.
As for me, I'm going to be really good now and what with the kelp tablets I'm hoping to shift that nasty lb next week and a little more besides ;)

Well thats the tizzy over with :duh

I decided i wouldnt do myself in after all

When i went to class this morning we were having a taster ( i knew nothing about this cos i couldnt stay lastweek) But i felt ill this morning so i couldnt face any of it. I did get a recipe for mancester tart( everyone was really enjoying it in class) and hurried out to buy the stuff i needed and made it tonight. I messed up putting to much water in the geletine and decided to make some more up and add that too, BIG MISTAKE :duh It was vile :yuck
I will pay more attention to what i am doing in the first place next time

I was asking what was the best thing to eat in a pub, mixed grill with jacket for instants and how many syns it would be and a girl in class said to watch out for jacket spuds because she works somewhere ( cant remember where)
and they soak their spuds in oil so they crisp up better :yikes

You learn something new everyday

Morning everyone

Just got the kids off to school so i thought i would come to say hello.
I am armed with my grapes and a banana and my little buddy sea kelp is sitting on the side of the plate too.

How has everyone been feeling lately because for a week or so i have not felt to good :yuck I went the shop yesterday and thought i was going to pass out it really frightened me. My friend has been asking if i am not eating to try and loss more weight ( not in so many words) but i can honestly say that i eat alot more while on plan ( apart from when i did the bowl of soup and sandwich for lunch and dinner for 3 days).

I am still on track and plan to stay there too hopefully i will lose more next week.

Same here :( but I have had a very stressful week in more ways then one and haven't been walking. I didn't stay to group because I was sooo cheesed off. No doubt she will email me so I will put it behind me and get back on track. I think I have got it out of my system now.
Good luck to everyone else...onwards and downwards :cheers

Morning Everyone
From reading the last few posts we all need a boost.
It is happening again :(
Last night got home after doing the weekly shop and a full days work and teenage sons hormones and mine clashed. :cry Think they thought that being asked to put the shopping away was 'the fairies job' :que So I got myself in a 'right tizz' opened and ate a small packet of rice crackers with a dip, then had a small glass of wine and then a large glass of wine later in the eveing. I am so annoyed with myself - done this before had a good weight loss and then gone and undone some of the good work. I also never got on my lunchtime walk and felt if I had I would not have got myself in the 'tizz' Jumped on the scales this morning and up slightly so at least I know I have to 'sort myself out'
Can't find the syn value of the rice crackers? Got them from Home and Bargain. Going to say 1 syn for each and think there was about 10 add that to the syns for the wine and add into the weks total.
Going to make the curry from this months SW magazine and forgot to get Passata last night does anyone know if chopped tomatoes are the same? Sounds a stupid question but I think there is a difference in the taste between Passata and chopped tomatoes?
Sorry to go on but needed to tell someone who understands and I know everyone on here does.
Thanks for listening.
Irene.

Hi Irene,

Dont beat yourself up! you've done so well recently, this is is just a wee 'hicup' .If it had been me, I'd have had a large piece of M&S coffee Walnut cake in a bowl of warm Ambrosia custard.....so a few rice crackers and a bit of 'posh' grape juice aint so bad.

Just keep reminding yourself of what you have achieved so far, which has been marvellous.

Enjoy your weekend

Aw....put it behind you Irene. I got a card from my SW leader this morning saying "We're rooting for you " which was nice. I'm back on track already but annoyed I undid some of my good work. It's obvious how much my walking contributes to keeping my weight down. As you get older you find that even eating a bit more than usual will make you pile on the pounds with no leeway :cry

HI everyone

Irene i wouldnt worry about it because you have already syned it so you have not done any damage and if you have gone over your syns just use it as flexi :tup and then try your best to have no more.

Have you been on the syns calculator on SW website to see if you can find out the syn value :think

Goodluck with the rest of the week everyone

Hi ladies,
Thanks for hearing my 'confession' Yesterday is gone but it shows me how weak I can be. :rofl
Have had a good day - weetabix and strawberries for breakfast, more fruit throughtout the morning, brisk 15 min walk at lunchtime and then a lovely pasta tuna salad.
How does flexi syns work ?- I am working on 10 syns per day if I need them. So yesterday I probably had 30 syns so leaving me 40 for the rest of the week????

Hi Irene

Flexi syns is say... you have a night out coming up and you dont want to save your syns all week, you allow yourself an extra 50 for example but make sure you keep counting. SW say its all about you staying in control. I personally have my own rules ( as always :duh ) for flexi syns it normally means i am having the day off and dont count the syns i am throwing down my neck ( wouldnt advise :whoops ) as my days off normally end up going on for weeks but if your not like me and can be trusted to get right back on track then flexi syns is a good idea so you dont feel you are spiralling out of control. If however you can pull back your syns daily so you still work out at having 70 in the week you will see a loss at the end of it :tup Also you still have 8 syns a day left that will take you right up to tuesday. What day do you get weighed Irene :que If its wed then can you manage on 8 syns a day until then??

Hi Kerrie
Thanks for explaining the flexi syns. I am going to divide the number of syns left by the days I have to go until weigh in (Tuesdays) and stick to those - I normally use about 20 syns over the weekend for a glass or 2 of wine on Friday and Saturday but not having wine tonight as I feel 'light headed' which I think may be caused by the change of my contraceptive pill :offtop hence the hormone problem which kicked everything off last night. :( As my mum (bless her0 keeps telling me it is my age. :que
Looking back at my diary I have realised I am not always having my health A and B's and I presume they are called healthy extras for a reason?
Looked on the SW site and couldn't find the syn value for the crackers that I had so looked at the Jacobs ones and they were 5 syns - less than I thought. :)
Thanks to everyone who has made me feel better.

Hi Irene,

I fully understand how you feel having had an 'off day' with the healthy eating (trying to avoid the D word so as not to give negative connotations!).

I only started WW on Monday and have managed to have a complete meltdown once already! The one small glass of wine I had planned in with my points ended up being half a bottle. If only I had stopped there....ended up eating 2 cream crackers. cheese and 2 ww bars that I thought I would buy to eat when the craving to munch hit me.......worked well...NOT!

Spent today feeling down but managed to not just give up....even in the face of the OH having takeaway I cooked own dinner so am feeling in control again! I have come to realise that the emotional links I have with food will take a long time to get sorted...probably even longer than getting the weight off!

It's amazing how much better I feel having written all that down! It's also good to know that lots of people struggle as my OH doesn't get my issues with food as he has always been lean and eats because he's hungry not because he has had a rubbish day!!

Well good luck all.

Oh squirrel

That could have been soooooooooooooo me writing your post :duh
Its took me nearly 9yrs to not eat and drink when i have a bad day, especially if me and hubby have words :duh but i have mastered that one :tup but i must say i wanted to have a drink and chinese tonight and i REALLY wanted it!! I think its because i only lost 0.5 last weigh in and i had stayed in on mothers day and stuck to plan but i never and.... i am sooooooo proud of myself :tup

Keep your chin

Weight has stayed the same AGAIN this week

Frustrating!!! :duh
Reply
Oh no CiderMonster, I know how frustrating a plateau can be. :( A couple of years ago, the first time I joined WW I lost a stone in the first couple of months and then basically stayed the same for 3 months. I used to lose 1lb, lose 1lb, lose 1lb, gain 3lbs!! :duh I kept a diary of what I ate and they couldn't see anything wrong on that front. In the end I had had 3 leaders tell me loads of different things (including that I had a yeast allergy :que ) but they all said it's just a plateau and you'll get over it. Because I was going to meetings at that point I gave up because I couldn't justify paying for all that time to stay the same. I promised myself I would keep it up but didn't and the thing is, when I started dieting again in January I was half a stone more than my start weight had been last time :cry What I'm trying to say is don't give up!! You're losing weight on your own plan and have been doing really well. :) Are there any small changes that you can make to see if that makes a difference? (more water etc). Anyway, I'll cross everything for you and hope that it's just a blip!

Hey all :wave Sounds like everyone is having a tough time as well as me at the moment. My downfall has been bread for the last two weeks and this week, my sweet cravings have hit an all time high. Picking at chocolates and biscuits on an evening is really not helping me any. Even though my SW consultant told me all those words of encouragement last week, ive still lost motivation. Must be the time of year (that old excuse again!).

Still, if I can stop picking and not go mad this weekend, it might not be so bad at weigh-in on Tuesday. Here's hoping. Summer is coming and I for one, feel happier eating salads and fruit when the weather is sunnier and not reaching for comfort foods to cheer me up.

Good luck everyone. Hope things settle down and we have a few successful weeks between us.

Sarah :)
