Hi Kerrie,
Good luck for tomorrow. I didn't gain or lose this week which I am actually very pleased with considering I had a friend visiting this weekend and we ate and drank excessively from the Tyrells crisps to Italian and much vino!!
Fortunatley I limited the damage by having saved points throughout last week in preparation for the big blowout so really I did quite well as normally I wouldn't have planned. That would have been the slippery slope to having a poor week this week but instead I feel pretty good and motivated.
I pay via the monthly plan scheme and have access to all internet stuff which is fab. Just cooked a lovely meal from their recipe lists but got my measurements mixed up for the 2 of us and doubly spiced it.....ooops!!!!!
Squirrel.
I know I haven't lost any weight because I have been comfort eating, however, I am hoping that I have not put on more than a 1lb.
I have found in the past that losing a gained pound is a lot easier than losing a gained two, three etc pounds which is when I give up whatever diet I am on because I feel a failure.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
I maintained last night which I was happy with. Lets hope now that spring is just around the corner (although the weather here in Wirral is very cold this morning but bright ) we will all do better than we have been.
Finish work tomorrow until 7th April so hoping to do quite a few new recipes/ideas.
Speak later.
Irene
Well done on your maintain and for saving your points before hand (makes a difference)
I managed to lose 1lb which takes my loss to 1st 4lb since jan I need to have a look at my speed foods now though because i have fallen 2lb behind what i should be losing to get to target for my hols. Not to worry though as it only makes me more determand
Goodluck everyone and well done
Kerrie
Interestingly, yesterday (18th) was supposedly the day when most people give up on their diets ... so lets not fall into that trap, eh
I am determined not to go mad over the Easter weekend otherwise I could undo all the good I have done. Our leader said that last year following the Easter break, her group members (she runs six classes) put on between 3 and 7 pounds each! Gaining 1 pound is bad enough but 7; that would be enough to make me give up.
Well another .5lb off...... Still, I'm now the lightest I have been for many, many years. Going to aim for 2lbs this week, I'm NOT going to eat any Easter eggs and I'm going to do loads of exercise. My motivation seems to be back (It's been missing for a few weeks). Well done, Irene for maintaining, Congrats Sydney, Well Done!!! You too Kerrie!! And Cidermonster hope you are feeling better soon. Good Luck everyone on your weigh-ins.
Denny
tht was interesting from you saying how your leader said everyone had gained between 3 an7 lbs over Easter. Is that put down to eating chocolate or that as it's a holiday people get out of their current routine??
Well, I have to admit that if it's down to the chocolate I should be ok.....however if the symbol for Easter Sunday was altered by the profiteers to cheese then I would have an almighty problem!!!!!
Squirrel
Our leader said that people tend to think of Easter as a second Christmas and just go mad. They think one small Easter egg with a small bar of chocolate with it is ok, but what they do not realise is that some of the small eggs with a small bar of chocolate, may have for arguments sake, 70 syns.
I cannot remember which egg she was talking about, but it had 230 syns in it.
What I do, and I know I shouldn't is that if I have eaten too many naughty things, I will miss a meal.
Well done to those who have lost weight so far this week and don't get too down if you haven't.
I think that over the Easter period, if we start to feel weak, we should come on here.
Sheila
Cidermonster hope you feel better soon
Sheila 230 syns in one egg Glad i dont bother with them.
Denny well done on being the lightest youve been Even if it comes off slowly you get there in the end.
Sydney well done one your 1.5lb loss Its nice when you get an unexpected loss and it makes the next week easier (i find)
Hope i have not left anyone out.
Easter is not a danger point for me as i dont really do easter. Christmas well...... thats a VERY different story, I seem to think that christmas gives me the god given right to munch and drink what ever i please for at least 2 weeks. So i should be ok this week at least.

Well i managed to lose 3.5 lbs this week, taking my total to 8.5lbs since February. Very chuffed :) Only 5.5 lbs till 1 stone yippee! Ive never dieted before, but i have found the past week not too bad - i go through phases of it being difficult, then easy, then difficult etc.
We were told tonight that 1 cadbury's easter egg is 21 Scottish Slimmer checks - so about 500 Calories!!! Eeek!!!
Hope you are all well - great job on losing the weight everyone Good luck for all for this week
GG x
What is Scottish Slimmers like? Similar to Slimming World I guess.? Is it easy to follow?
Denny
Sorry to hear you're poorly CiderMonster but glad to hear you're still sticking with it.
Well done alsbaby, sydney, denny, GlitterGirl and all the other 'losers' this week (sorry if I missed anyone off).
I guess one good thing about being away over Easter is that I won't be tempted by any of the incredibly naughty eggs!!
Keep at it everyone, I'll definately be back after my hols...
Sunaholic
Sunaholic, Hope you have a fab holiday, have a great time !!!!! Denny
Glittergirl well done thats a brilliant loss
How you feeling cidermoster
Keep up the good work everyone.
Kerrie
Happy Easter to you all Not too many eggs now - think of how we want to look? My egg was in the shape of 2 small bottles of wine (off my mum as she know how serious I am at losing weight), apart from my mum, my best friend and my friends on here no one else knows what I weigh/target weight. Bit miffed recently as I told hubby I had lost a stone and not a word of congrats mind you on the other hand he has never said I needed to lose weight (values his life)!!!!
Things seems more positive for us this week? Well done to everyone who has lost and maintained and good luck to those who had a 'blip'
I have had a good week - keeping off the scales and waiting until Tuesday to see how things go. (Hopefully some weight goes.):rofl Making sure I have my 2 healthy B's as fibre based foods - you know why? Also trying to drink more water but struggling.
Made the SW quiche on Friday - didn't use the CC and I must say it was lovely - my sister who had had it before with the CC said it is better with CC in it so will make another one tomorrow or Tuesday.
I am off for 2 weeks now so have started to include exercise on a regular basis and next weekend the hour goes forward so I will be able to cycle to and from SW class.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Speak soon.
Irene
11 more weeks for us and were off to salou ( more time to lose weight)
I to am a lover of the sw quiche and have it quite alot. I made it with just eggs yesterday and it was fine but it does have more volume with the cottage cheese ( if not a lover of cc you really CANT taste it i promise) not fussed on cc myself but love the quiche
Keep up the good work
kerrie
18 weeks today for us, going back to Zakynthos.
Lets all think positive - everyone on here is so supportive to one another and for that I am grateful when I have been a 'bit low' so lets keep it going.
Kerrie - CC is ok, it was the thought of mixing it ino to the pasta that 'put me off' but saying that I liked a WW recipe CC mixed with tomato puree and black pepper and put on a JP, until youngest son informed me what is 'looked like'.
Talking of WW I a soup recipe I made yesterday.
1 tin chopped toms
4 large carrots
1 large onion
1 courgette
1 stick celery
1 oxo (I used veg)
Herbs
S + P
Chop all the veg, put all ingredients into a pan with enough water to cover veg, bring to the boil and then simmer until veg are soft. Eat chunky and 'whizz' smooth. All free food and very tasty. So good it all got eaten.
Irene
I normally use the cheese and brocolli pasta n sauce and then add 1oz ( b section) cheese some onion and and lots of baby spinach with cc and 3 to 4 eggs Yummy!!
Oh guess what, I put my black pants on today (have not worn them for about 10 days) and they felt even bigger I am made up!
Kerrie
Well done GlitterGirl, thats a great weight loss.!!
What is Scottish Slimmers like? Similar to Slimming World I guess.? Is it easy to follow?
Denny
Hi Denny!
Ive never done Slimming World, but i think they are all mostly the same. In Scottish Slimmers you get allocated "Checks" to use - depending on your weight, depends how many checks you get etc.
Im finding this week extremely hard. I done fine all weekend (Didnt touch ANY chocolate!) but ended up in the Hard Rock Cafe and had Potato Skins and a chicken caeser salad - it was so good, could taste the calories!!
Now my best mate who goes with me wants to stop going because she had a bad week! She's convinced herself she's put on loads, but i bet she hasnt!!! She is refusing to go - she doesnt want to know she's put on! So thats making it harder for me, cos now i just want to join her and pig out on some easter eggs!!!
Got to keep focused - will be so much easier to walk round Disney World in September without all this flab!
Alsbaby - you will love Salou - been there a few times over the years (Went 5 years in a row with my parents when i was younger!!!!) also been back with my boyfriend and we still love it
Good luck all - im certainly feeling the pressure of easter now!!!
GG x
