Indeed NikkiB. I used to fly BA all the time. I have to admit though I do like my frills and have had some horrendous problems with the supposed low cost carriers in the past...

Think it will be Thomas Cook for me from now on

Just been looking on the Ryanair website for Tenerife flights from Liverpool but doesnt look they are operating this route now.Does anyone know if this is a permanent thing?

Good question - maybe they only do this during the more profitable autumn / winter season.

When we travelled last November from Manchester to TFS the guy next to us said he had already used this new route (with low flight costs) and had pre-booked other flights over the winter period.

When we came back from Tenerife just over a week ago (on the last GBAirways flight from TFS into Manchester) the only 'UK' Ryanar flight on the departure board was to Ireland.

Last year we booked EMA/Santiago. Three weeks prior to departure they altered flight to Liverpool/Santiago. Flight times totally different, Informing us new location of airport was 156 miles Northwest of EMA.
THANKYOU. We cancelled flight, took 4 weeks to get our money back, lost money on prebooked car park at EMA.
We now keep well clear of Ryanair. Wrecked our holiday plans.
We travel to Tenerife a lot, Ryanair now operate our of EMA to TFS, Not for us. No doubt there are as many good stories about this airline as bad, but, thanks but no thanks.

I have bitten the bullet and booked with Monarch from Luton for the 9th Dec cost for two £280.. after the luggage charge, I would like a deal as last year with Ryanair from East Midlands £104 for the two total, it appears to me that they may not go to Tenerife this winter. But at least I have booked now, sometimes you can hang on too long.

I find that most charter airlines will usually offer better fares to the Canaries than the low-cost carriers. For example, going to Tenerife from Gatwick on the 4th of July for a week, you get the following fares:

First Choice: £194
XL Airways: £210
Thomas Cook: £211.98
Monarch: £213.18
Thomsonfly: £219.98
easyJet: £269.98

Unfortunately, most people will usually go onto the easyJet website and assume that they're going to get the best fares there, and it usually is simply not the case. Of course, you will have to be flexible to get the best fares - First Choice, XL and Thomas Cook only fly to Tenerife on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Tenerife to Dublin, one way, costs €170-00, for 2 seats.
Flights leaves Tenerife at 11-00a.m.
I live 2 hours from the airport and I get a public bus home. Free for pensioners.

On the way out, I fly Aer Lingus, same price. Flight leaves Dublin at 1-00 p.m.
Winner both ways,
Regards,
Billyboy.

Easy jet flights are now out for winter

Well the title is what it says, and doh :duh do i wish i'd waited, instead of booking my mum to tenerife on jet2

As i paid £381 for 2 of them with jet2

easy jet have the same dates for £151 for the 2 of them.

:duh :duh :duh

Oh well some you win some you loose.

And my ryanair flights have worked out at about £20 each dearer.

So be quick and book them from manchester before they go up.

I just wish i'd listened to my own advice and not looked at the price of the flights. :rofl

I have been trying to book a flight from Gatwick for christmas. So far I have been quoted anything from £690 to £812 for two.
I have just tried Easyjet and can get a flight for £278 for two.
This with speedy boarding and 2 hold bags up to 40kg in total.

Am I missing something here. :que
