Hello Everyone!!
Was hoping some of you knowledgable people may be able to help me! Really want to go to Cyprus in late Mat this year, just dont know where to go!!
Looking for a really pretty resort, really nice hotel, somewhere that has some excellent resturants with a bit of "buzz" about the place, perhaps some bars with live music. Nowhere like "blackppol in the sun". Somewhere that still has a bit of tradition about it?
Any ideas on hotels too?? A wonderful view would be a huge bonus!!
Is there such a place that has it all?? Food, some nightlife and culture???
Any info would be very much appreciated!
we like all the same choices as what you have listed.
and weve been going to Protaras for 11 years now
Some lovely beaches,
quite a few bars down the main strip with great nightlife
& some very nice traditional resturants.
Ive never actually stayed in Larnaca before just visited
in the day but from what ive hurd seems to sound good

We love it and stay there every time we are over.
There are pubs, clubs, bars, restaurants and tavernas. Also, for the ladies, plenty of 'retail therapy'.
We also always stay in Pissouri. (I do a DIY 2 centre holiday.) Although not renowned for its nightlife, there are bars, restaurants and tavernas in the village and a couple of miles away in the bay.
It is a fairly traditional village.

hi there princess, my wife and i went to protaris two years ago and we stayed in the andreotis apts in protaris, they were just brilliant and only a couple of minutes to the main strip, where there is just about everything that you would want to do on a holiday, the strip is about 1.5 miles long and it caters for everyone, the andreotis apts are very clean with the maid in every couple of days or so, also the pool is very good and quite a nice size, the main food area is run by two brothers one is george and i just cant remember the other but he is very nice and he never forgets your name, we loved our time ther and will definitely be be back there in the near future, i hope that this help's you out and make's your choice a little easier, all the best john.
It is all subjective to your ideas, but Pafos is the prettiest (normally) it has a huge bar culture but beaches are not that good in town, need a car to drive a few miles west, Limassol is a mess but has good shops, a working town, Larnaca similar to Lemnoss busy bustling not bad beaches, further east Agia Napa for the best beaches and lager louts, the town is not the prettiest in my opinion, Protaras is OK with good beaches, geared up for the holiday trade, all areas of Cyprus are at most two hours apart, so nothing is that far away, may I suggest where ever you end up hire a car and take a closer look...have a good stay.
My parents had a place out there for years and we have been going there for the past 25 years
Over the past few seasons the mayor has totally clamped down and its nothing like ibiza uncovered or the like
Go look in July it is full of them unfortunately, not my cup of Keo to be honest, lovely beach and that's it..sorry my opinion.
We went fairly out of season so places weren't heaving which gives you a different slant on things to high season. This is a factor that should be taken into account as well wherever you go. The time of year you choose can make all the difference.
There was a similar question a little while ago - so you may also want to have a read of this thread too:
I am not saying one area is better than the other, I personally love all of Cyprus, I chose to live in the Pafos area because my family already lived here, but we do not live in the towns, certainly I would not wish to live in Agia Napa town, but nothing wrong with it's areas outside of this, Pafos has better views and unlike AN not flat, to me this is more important than bar life and beaches, I realise this is a holiday based website and peoples requirements are different to living here, and I guess that's the real difference, Cyprus is for all, not just one part of it..
