Legoland does not open until after 10am, so this kind of travelling distance shouldn't be putting you off !
Of course accommodation is basic, and breakfast may well be a trip to a nearby McDonalds ...but if you already have half price vouchers /ticket offers to get you into Legoland you may well find a significant savings are to be had over the Legoland-hotel deals you see advertised. Particularly if you are planning to be there for just the one day.
Try the website Raring2go for printable vouchers if you don't find any in the papers.
However, best of all are the vouchers that offer 2 for 1 entry that do NOT specify that one person has to be a child.....these appear from time to time in newspapers, cereal packets etc. If you look out for these types, you stand to make a better saving as a 2 + 2 family .....since one adult can get in free with the other adult, and the saving is therefore better than with a free child IYKWIM
We're going to Legoland in a couple of weeks. Staying at the Holiday Inn in Slough, so looking for some nice places which are family friendly and not overly expensive for meals. The only thing we don't eat is indian or spicy food but kids love chinese, italian or homecooked grub.
Well if you venture in to Windsor itself (can't remember the names have not been that way for about 18m), there are quite a lot of family pubs/reasturants and from memory there a few by the river too, which if you manage to have a beautiful day then it would be lovely.
Thank you for that
No problem and if you have time and like castles then you could always have a look round Windsor Castle and round the shops, and coffee bars in the centre.
We've just been offered free tickets to Legoland for today. We would be taking grandchildren aged 3 years and 17 months. Is there much for them to do, and are there any rides that the 3 year old can go on on her own or we can go on with them? We won't be able to get there till about 1.00 p.m. as the little one has a swimming lesson this morning!
Urgent answers would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.
For the benefit of anyone else taking very young children to Legoland, we did go and of course it was packed because of the school holidays. The older girl liked Miniland, the lego buildings, boats etc. but we loved it even more, and the Fairy Tale Brook and Hill Train, but they mostly liked the slides and other play equipment like you get anywhere! They would have loved running around in the water park area but we hadn't taken their stuff. Due to lack of planning and research, we didn't see all that Legoland had to offer, but they did have a good time and we decided that it will be a great day out for them in 2 or 3 years' time - and preferably out of the school holidays!
