You really need to be there as soon as it opens. Within an hour the spaces for the day will be taken. To be honest, the walkway is not that far up and you will get a better view if you go to the Menora Tower.

Depending on your hotel the consierge service maybe be able to sort out tickets for you (we stayed at the MO and they were very happy to sort out tickets).

Thats an idea. thanks never thought of that. We are staying at the New Rennaissance, not sure about its location though.

I believe the ticket office opens at 9am.There will be a queue long before that. You 'll be issued a ticket with a time on it. The towers are on top of a large shopping centre with cafe's etc. so you can always spend time there if you have to wait. You also have to go through airport type security.
You are only allowed to go up to the bridge between the two towers on the 41st floor.
As Fiona says The Menora Tower is really worth a visit, though the Petronas Twin Towers is free (at least it was when I went up about three years ago)

Menara Tower is well worth a visit and seems higher than the KL towers when you are up it beause it is on top of a hill (although there is an entrance fee which is about £1.50 I think). For the time and cost both are worth a visit.

We were in a rather long queue for tickets - we were there around 8am and queued for a while afer the ticket office opened that was 2 years ago. 7 years ago I was there around quarter 8 and was first in the queue. It was great to go up but as Rickt says Menara Tower is well worth the visit- you get a much better view of KL from here.

We went about 1pm and were given a ticket for 5pm which was ideal for us it meant we could go off and do other things.

you were really lucky to get a ticket at 1pm :)

When we were there for our 11AM ascent they were still handing out tickets for 1PM (If you avoid friday, saturday and sunday you have a better chance of getting tickets close to the time you queue, during the week the whole KLCC complex is almost empty except at lunchtime when all the people who work nearby pop in for lunch).

Perhaps it was just peak season when we were there- August.
Whilst there, take a stroll in the park area at the back of the Towers. We loved it and enjoyed watching all the local kids splashing about in the water. There were hundreds of families there.

Hi,
We went up the towers last August, we got there at about 7.45am there was a queue already, gates opened at 8.30am, we were given the choice of going up almost straight away or later in the day, choose to go straight up, really enjoyed the views, the shopping centre under the towers is great a real relief from the heat and full of floor after floor of shops also if you get chance as we did to visit the towers at night the grounds and the waterfalls around the tower are lovely there is a real buzz looking up at the towers in the dark.
I wish I was back there!!!!

Ooh. This really useful. I'm going Kuala Lumpur for a month in August (yay!) and definitely want to visit the towers.
Thanks for the info.

If budget allows stay in the Traders Hotel, KLCC in a club park room and you can see the towers at different times of the day from the comfort of your air conditioned bedroom, especially 4am when you can't sleep it's amazing!
