Have a look at Orion Studios in Faliraki, Rhodes, it was through Kosmar. These apartments are on the back of a restaurant down a side road at the end of Bar Street, you are just across the road from the beach and the location is towards the outskirts of town and so you're not affected by noise. When we stayed there, the restaurant was the best in town. On production of your room key, you got a free carafe of wine with your meal. Rhodes Old Town is fabulous plus you've got the option to pop across to Marmaris in Turkey for a bit of retail therapy !!
Also, there's Grapevines Apartments in Alykanas on Zante through Sunstart(a subsidiary of First Choice), though Alykanas is small it is quite lively and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. The beach is a comfortable 15 minute walk but well worth it. Using local Tour Operator Dionisos/Tez, we went on an overnight stay to Athens which was excellent value for money but make sure you try and get Costas as your Guide, he is brilliant. You can also go over to Kefalonia, we went on an organised trip and felt we didn't get enough time, add to this, we didn't see the location for the film Captain Corellis Mandolin.
My other recommendation would be Ayia Napa in Cyprus, it has got superb beaches. For this, you would have to look at the Small and Friendly Brochures for your requirements. We are in our 50s and so tend to shy away from the bright lights so to speak, we don't do kids if we can help it, no disrespect intended to those with families, it is the fact that we've been there, done that and got the t-shirt to prove it !! Hope this gives you a good start, wishing you and yours all the best in your quest.
