Hi, my boyfriend and I are thinking of booking a holiday to one of the Canary islands for February to get some sunshine and a break from a yucky British winter!
Which island would you recommend for February (before the half term break), and which resort(s)?
We are 26 and 31, we'd want a choice of restaurants and bars to go to so we'd want somewhere a bit lively, but not completely bonkers...though I'd guess most places would be a bit more sedate in February.
Please give us some suggestions. I've also posted this in the other Canaries boards
Hi Helen, my wife (also Helen) and I always go to Puerto de La Cruz in the North, which is a little quieter than the South. However the main season in the Canaries is the winter. The weather is lovely, we went last February and had a lovely time, even got sunburnt so watch out. February is Carnival time between 15th Februsry and the 1st march, with the grand parade on the 28th February. If you want a realy lively time but in a nice resort the this time in Puerto de la Cruz is a must. There are lots of hotels of all grades and self catering appartments. The town is full of bars and restaurents to suit all tastes and pockets, and good shops too. Again this is the time of the winter sales, so bring an empty suitcase.
