hello all
Not been round the forums at all recently as we have problems here that need our undivided attention.
As another issue from our problems we have forgotten to book a holiday this year so are now looking for ideas.
We are a family, mum & dad and son (14) & daughter (9) all reasonably fit, plus mum who is 82 and not so fit but can walk reasonable distances (so long as she is pushing a pram which we take everywhere with us!).
Mum has a disabled Blue Badge parking permit if that helps.
We like north Wales, have been to LLandudno several times. We' re thinking we're like somewhere where there's something to do if it's rainy or if we don't want to travel out.
Also we're thinking we'd like to move away from self catering, if possible, to dinner, B&B and away from caravans to more "solid" lodging not too far from a sandy beach.
How about the lodges (if there are any) at Presthaven Sands? We've been to Haven/Parkhaven type holidays before so know what we're letting ourselves in for (more or less). We were enthusiastic about it but, having read all the discussions here at HT, we now have mixed feelings about it. Anyone have any recent experience of it?
Anywhere else?
We're looking the the UK only by the way and we're been to Butlin's Bognor for a short break so don't want to return there this year.
Thanks for any suggestions.
MM
Hi Musicman, where are you travelling from? Would you be able to give Devon or Cornwall a try? Parkdean have some lovely sites down that way with lodges if you prefer those to a caravan.
The wife has already decided she doesn't want to go to Devon/Cornwall/the south west this year.
Maybe I should have mentioned these details in my original post. Sorry but thanks for replying.

Personally I think Bournemouth is pretty unbeatable, as you can find lots to do whatever the whether, however if you don't want that area.... If Scotland isn't too far, then I would definitely recommend it. There are some fantastic places. Last year my cousin got married in Edinburgh, and as we wanted to make it into holiday (but couldn't afford Edinburgh prices) we stayed in a B&B in a place called Joppa. It was directly onto the beach and was fantastic. Louise
How about Rye or just outside at Winchelsea? We've stayed for a long weekend in a fantastic B & B farm. It's also very near to Camber Sands which are wonderful! Pm me if you want the link to the farm...or can I put it on here?
i stayed there for a week and it was great.
it is not far from Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough (all of which have beaches). and on site there is so much to do
if you do decide to go please let me know.
Id try maybe one ot two nights each at different resorts on anglesey,
I would recommend the Isle of Wight
