Well we booked our flights today, even cheaper than jet last year with Srilankan Airlines-- Colombo---Goa, excellent connecting flights both ways.Leaving November 3rd---Returning March 16th :tup
Is still the cheapest place to be for 5 months of the year, and you can still find nice shacks and beaches :sun2 you can still find cabs that dont rip you of,If the restaurants/shacks are charging to much then dont use them, there will always be good ones available at great prices,do some homework and before hand and take note what people recommend doom and gloom i keep reading will not spoil
our way of life over there. :cheers If your not happy with it,then stay in doom and gloom England,i can guarantee it will be more expensive than Goa

Brilliant Split, a nice long break in Goa. Unfortunately, we have work and cant do things like that at the moment, but maybe one day :think
Do you stay at the same place long term each year?

Hi Gemma,Yes we do,I know we are lucky to have that time there ,but planed it very early in our life,
so we could(like you are) work only until we had enough money to finish work completely.
and yes we rent the same place every year ,Hope you can live the dream to, soon :cheers

Hi Tomitma,

I read your post on the Why not in Calangute and agree with you very nice sunday lunch, But when you come back try Shivers opp Kingfisher village down a small lane they do a sunday lunch carvery and it is help your self to as much as you want for 300 Rs

Beef, Pork, chicken and you can have all three if you wish.
Roast potatoes and boiled potatoes,
Carrots, Peas, Runner beans, cabbage, cauliflour
Yorkshire puddings, Gravy, mint sauce, apple sauce , mustard

And it is cooked to perfection, you may have to book in the season because it is very popular.

My friend booked yesterday, for the same time as she booked for last year a period of 4 weeks in January, the price was way over what she has ever paid before, and she has been going for 8 years, when she queried why the prices are going so high, she was told that it is because of the increase in fuel prices, and they are set to increase the prices again. This is not just for Goa, but all over the world, I have been waiting to book internal flights from Mumbai, to Goa, and when you look at the taxes that are being charged, they are very high, compared to the price of the flights, I am glad that I have already booked the London flights, as I have a feeling there are not going to be many last minute bargains this year.

The flight companies are taking the opinion that if you are set on going to a certain country then you will pay the price.
