this is why i go for the main holiday of 2 weeks at the end or begining of may . but believe me you can still hear the music from over the road from the golden fizz and lindas bar as the do have a bit of a rivalry going on . but this is not too bad , but the oxyd is reaaly big and open air so without hearing it first hand we will have to wait for more reports.
I agree with few more drinks before bed, trouble is the next day coping with hangover and grotty children that have had trouble sleeping... talk about adding fat to a fire .lol ..
Well, what will be will be, and your so right about my pre warning to Thomas Cook, just hope I'm not going to be in the position of complaining or moving hotels during our stay..
Need some sun now though, this rain and over night thunders are getting me down. Especially as kids on school holidays this week typical........ still 3 weeks tomorrow til we are off.
Im currently on the web looking for next years holiday, hubby fancies a change and wants to go to Egypt, im so sure though, fancy going higher up in Turkey next year........
Thanks Davidstoncold......Just checked at the website......soon as hubby walks in the door I'll be showing him, didnt realise it was an open air nightclub too ! Now Im really put off....... Ive been looking forward to this for so long,,,, now I'm wondering if we should try and change hotels now....
It is a shame, the hotel did seem to have everything you could want for a summer hoilday I am really not good with thumping music till 4 in the morning 4 days out of seven though. In my mind I had Side as a kind of quiet up market resort, I thought all the nightclubs that went on till the small hours were in Marmaris and Bodrum. Seems an odd thing to have in a family resort opposite a prestigious hotel.
it is only open for about 3 months of the season , but this is no help to people going during this time .
Well, hubby home from work and i have shown him the website for the nightclub.........
Over a good old cup of tea, and a chat with hubby and T/cook on our high street by phone, we are going to stick with the Hemera, and will just keep fingers crossed all will be ok........I've wanted to stay at this hotel for the past few years....
Just hope it's not going to be a disaster, like are last t/cook holiday - father in law died 8days before we were going, then 5 days later t/cook cancelled our stay in the Kaya due to trouble with it's sister hotel in Belek. Not be able to afford to have a holiday since then, so this holiday means alot to us, my husband will also have his birthday in resort too.......
T/cook said it'd be £40 each to change plus any extra that other hotels would charge, and that was if any available that can take 4 in a room....... beings we got the Hemera reduced by quite a few hundred pounds off, I cant afford to pay the extra at this time........oh well, will try and go with an open mind, we think that'll be best, and like Davidstoncold said to me, I requested to be futherest away from this already.....
Had I had known this a the time of booking, for the time we were wanting to go ,this air open air night would be open, I would of probably looked elsewhere to stay.....but I havent read any other write up's stating about this nightclub......
Will leave a write up when I get back........ Never know, may leave hubby with kids and go and join the fun !! lol,,,,,, that was if I was brave enough to be the oldest person in there ..he he he
I am sure you will have a lovely time as its a great hotel,Jay.
I'm sure you will be OK snow-white, I think if I had booked I wouldn't change it either. it does look like a superb hotel. As Jay says take some ear plugs just in case. Sounds like you deserve a good holiday.
The two bars accross the road have a battle of music, and only turn it down when the jandarma go past. Linda Bar is being run by an 18 year old who does what he likes when his dad is out of the way.,.... the music is defeaning. Have heard of heavy overcharging at Golden Fizz, x 3!!!
I won't be returning to Hemera again.... I celebrated my birthday there, had a lovely time, but it has lost its charm for me, tacky pool games and repetetive dart games and bad comedy shows are not my thing. The entertainment program has not changed much in 6 months.
Food was as good as always, lovely room, fantastic pillows and linen and cleaning , generator noise in afternoon, luckily this was when the waterslide was on..... Loads of english families..... and kids running all over....
Beach was actually quiet.... and a safe haven for relaxation, until the boules started. Going to Melas Hotel in July, ready for a change!!!
hi perfume when did you get back from the hemera i got back on the 19th may and the disco at the hemera hadnt opened then, we must have just missed it.
just got back yesterday morning..... disco only opened last thursday.
also how is the smoking ban going at the hemera have they banned it or do they still smoke in the restaurants.
On 19th May, ashtrays were removed from all bedrooms. The restaurants are completely no-smoking apart from the outside terrace. Lobby Bar and Aquarium bar are non-smoking. Entrance has ashtrays and tables outside.
Bars over the road have taken out the windows now, so they are not "enclosed" so people smoke everywhere.
The Conference room disco has little or no air-conditioning apparently........ never went in....
Not sure if I'm going back with kids and hubby or just my mum. Will depend! Prices are very high right now, and as Hemera is so popular now, everything is booked out!!
Will see.
we close about middle september.
this reply from the oxyd night club.. i thought the sign on it said from 23rd may to august.. looks like my next visit wil be after mid september..
Sandra
How bad is the generator noise in the afternoon, i was thinking of changing my date to mid september a bit cheaper as well.
I am glad I needed to cancel this year. I have noticed thomas cook have slashed the number of hotels they are doing in side or their web site isn't bringing them up for next year.
Booked with direct holidays and their choice of hotels are limited for side and they have royal wing and sherwood breezes resort in lara but didn't want to go there because its all hotels and nothing else.
Alanya is supposed to be really good, more shopping and more to do, not sure what beaches are like....
