Thinking about trying this hotel in 2009 but a bit worried about it being up a mountain and a camel ride to the beach etc... Can anyone help Haddy.

I totally agree.
Sue
we are in our 60's and the hill is not bad.
Thanks folks for the above info, anymore info would be welcome
hello, can anyone tell me what time the dining room closes,as we dont get there till about 9.30ish i was wondering if any food would be available in the hotel or have we got to walk down the hill straight away to get some food.thanks
Can't understand what all the fuss is about 'The Hill'. OK, the direct route up/down is fairly steep, but it's short and there are other alternatives that are much easier. I'm 64 and have walked up it several times on the same day. It doesn't put me off one little bit !

you will be able to get a bit of breaky.just put your cases in locker room and pop down to eat.think its 10.30 am it stops
Going off memory here but I think the dinning room times are:
Breakfast 8 to 10
Dinner 6 to 9 or 9.30
Booked half board for a long weekend in Feb.Didnt arrive till gone 10pm there was a cold meat salad prepared and waiting under cling film for us and others.
Going to the Bali on July 31st and was wondering if there was a facility to hire beach/pool towels there as it would save packing them.
Also is there hairdryers in the rooms?
Many thanks
times i have been there no towel service.and no hairdryer.
Is it very steep? as I have a bit of problem with walking ie uphill, steps etc,
Found a fair price as I like a bargain but wouldnt like to be stuck in the hotel due to not being able to get about much.
Thanks in advance for any information forthcoming.
Having read back comments about the hill, think I will pass this one.
Can anyone suggest alternatives please. Or are taxis available to take you up the hill to the Bali?
Tony001 - are you the same Tony who has a little girl who we met and went to Mr Pickwicks with about 3 years ago. (we live nearby = sewing)
I have just returned from two weeks at The Bali and for the first time ever I was a little bit unhappy with it. The staff are brilliant and really helpful but the hotel itself is starting to look like it needs a bit of a face lift and some work done on it.
We stayed in the self catering apartments which were fine, apart fom the very small balcony, but two nights running when we came back to the apartment the lights in the passage way were off. On the second night one of the security guards was there with his torch to escort you to your room. Poor guy must have seen some sights.
The keys to each apartment is like a card the size of a credit card. We had to get ours reset three times during the holiday. Friends of ours were staying in the Bali 2 block and because of problems with their key (normal keys in this block) ended up with two keys for their room.
We also had to get our safe in the room reset twice before eventually the very helpful Antonia on reception gave us a refund and offered to keep our valuables such as passports etc in the hotel safe free of charge.
I cant really comment on Victor and his entertainment team as we never stopped in the hotel on night times but I did disagree with the entertainment team being allowed into the dinning room to promote their show while guests are eating their evening meal.
We ate out most nights but just because we know how good the food is in The Bali we ate their once or twice. Anybody wanting a good hearty breakfast or a good steak try Poppies Bar, new cook there, opposite the church above Bar Ibensa.
Some might think my little grumbles are not much to moan about but that and a few things that happened outside of the hotel has made me think twice about going back to Benalmadena, a place I used to call my second home.
