Hi,
Am going to Bitez in July for two weeks, can anybody advise on trips to take, places to see and restaurants to eat in.
Thanks,
Tony
If you get a dolmus into Bodrum , you can pick up any dolmus for about a dozen other places
I am fairly certain that you can do trips to Ephesus and Pammukale from Bitez.
there are plenty of shops selling trips along the front.
Lots of good eateries in Bitez, easier for me to mention a couple I don't rate -
Red Dragon and Daphnes.
No doubt some more regulars will come up with more suggestions.

Boat trips are well worth doing from Bitez and also jeep safaris. As del949 says you can also go into Bodrum, there is lots to see there and you can visit anywhere on the penisular by dolmus from there too.
My favourite restaurants in Bitez are the Sultan and Poyraz, along the beach front and Mart Kediler in the little square. There is also a little restaurant round the back, which I think is just called the Small Restaurant that does nice Turkish food. If you fancy going into Gumbet there is a wonderful Turkish restaurant called Seray Zetas that I thoroughly recommend, I think it is the best in the area.

There is a new restaurant in Bitez, at the Pinarhan Hotel. It's close to the Blue Moon and opposite where the Red Dragon used to be. It'll be open all winter, and serves really good food, doesn't offer as big a choice as some of the others, but has the best steaks. Pasta dishes are very good too.
Briar, which is the hotel doing turkish baths near manuela?
looking at the Manuela from the beach is it left or right?
Missed my bath last year (I have a bath every year wether I need one of not)

Wasn't over impressed with the Manuela restaurant this year, sorry to say. And prices have gone up.

It's also only five days for our next visit....
You will find most of the restaurants in Bitez are super!!!
Try "The Lavas" for a cheaper meal great lads and good food.
We will be in "The Sultan" at the week-end watching the football final....would be fantastic if Turkey make it!!!
Del we were told the "Rayola Hamman" in Ortakent was the best in Bodrum we have not tried it but might give it a go.
Have a great holiday Tony

Del, C J's used to be Ali's, I think. Who are the hols for next year from Leeds with? We are so used to DIY now.
Del, thanks Del!!
confusing
Mike , hols from LBA are T.Cook and Goldtrail
T cook prices fairly good but flights not good times. Goldtrail, never really looked because of their reputation.

Hi All (& Briar)
What's the deal with a Turkish Bath/massage for females?
Is it a female masseur or what?
And what's the procedure?
I really fancy one but dont want to end up in a difficult situation! We'll be in Bitez & will prbably use the Ambrosia recommendation..........oh & how much would you pay to be lathered/pampered/pummelled??

Always been a male masseur where we have been.
Wife usually wears a swimsuit and has no problems with"wandering hands"etc
I have seen women in the nude (but with a towel!)having a massage and they appear comfortable with it
A bit out of date, I think the last time we paid £20 each, BUT, that was for sauna, scrub and a full monty rose oil massage.
At a guess a sauna and soap massage/ scrub , about £10,,, but as I say a bit out of date so probably more now.

there all pretty good this year i found manuella's ok but i'd never been there before as we used to go in vona + sultans all the time.four seasons i thought was over-rated and vonas got a bit too dear for me.we found one called lavas off the seasfront opp the comfort hotel behind the mosque which was really good 3beers +3 adult meals turkish bread 3 coffees + 1 icecream for 42 lira.
got back yesterday 23/6/08 found the resort a little quiet this year so be prepared for loads of hassle from the waiters as you walk past - most of them are offering 15% discount +the usual free garlic bread + coffee

Briar, I've no previous experience to compare it against but found that when I was there 2 weeks ago the meals in the Manuela were ok, not my favourite by any means, but found it lacked atmosphere. Other restaurants were far more lively, it was really quiet, not empty but quiet. The staff were friendly & helpful, cant fault them in anyway, but it just lacked something...
We did have a nice meal somewhere that nobody else seems to have mentioned - The Queens, on the hill leading up out of Bitez, on the harbour side. Went there one night as my mum didnt feel like walking along the beachfront and we really enjoyed it. Excellent food and a nice couple running it. The husband was Turkish and the wife English. Would recommend it
