bizarre question here but mum and I are looking to go in sept this year but wondered if everyone that was there had children - whats it like meal times and during the day for those who have been with out kids?

Yep, all the burgers, BBQ and other snacks are included in the AI. The best snack place we found was going to the World side of the resort. They do chicken kabab there as opposed to chicken quaters on the Club side (they also do excellent pitta breads and well as turkish pizza).

The only meals that you have to pay for are the "a la carte" restaurants, but even these are very cheap (the Turkish restaurant is very good, hugh plates of food).

Hi All :)

Returned from Aqua Fantasy on monday morning after the dreaded 3.10am flight back so still jet lagged, yawn!!

We all had a lovely time, better than we anticiapated. The waterpark is absolutely wonderful and we spent may happy hours there. The whole place is sooo clean, the gardens and layout is great and there are plenty of pools around the two hotels, including ones with slides for small and big kids. The food is fine, you certainly wouldn't go hungry but is rather limited in choice and very repetitive after 2 weeks, but there's plenty for fussy kids - pizza, chicken, burgers, hot dogs, chips, etc. Can't see how anyone can complain about the beach, it's lovely and sandy, I only saw one piece of seaweed the whole fornight! It's also really shallow for a long way so ideal for little ones.

Our rooms were huge, we were on the Club ( mainly Dutch) side and had lovely views over two pools and the sea. They were much larger than the ones I saw on the World (mainly English) side and also bigger than the ground located ones. I had emailed the hotel asking for nice views so maybe this helped!

The real disappointment for us was that this is mainly a Dutch hotel and it showed. I have no problems at all with a majority of other nationalities in a hotel but what I didn't like was that there was segregation here - the main kids clubs was for the Dutch, they had watersports going on especially for the kids at the club, disco's, 2 animal characters interacting, singing shows, shows that they were included in etc, yet the other nationalities were shown to a separate tent and offered activities such as painting & music making. Our kids were really disappointed that they weren't able to join in with the more exciting activities and also the Dutch club would take the children to an early dinner and have an evening club, again the British weren't included in these and these weren't available for them.

Also beware that watersports are half the price for dutch guests, 10 lira for the banana boats, yet 20 lira for the English, this is even promoted in the Club Tropicana restaurant which is mainly used by the Dutch. When one couple challeneged this they were told it was because the British had more money!!! :duh

Regarding late check out room, I wouldn't bother. We were able to use tha spa facilities to shower and change and that was fine for us despite not being collected until 10.30pm.

I'll write a full review as soon as I've tackled the mountain of washing, etc but meanwhile any question please ask away.

All in all as I said we had a lovely holiday and it was excellent value for money for what we paid although I do notice the prices for next year have really rocketed in comparison and I don't feel that would be justified against other properties of the same price.

Anyone going should have a lovely time though, the weather was fantastic and the staff friendly. Whatever you do, don't miss a visit to the spa in the first couple of days for a Hamam, peel, foam & massage, for about £80 inc tip, it was bliss and worth every single lira!!

I've been looking at this for next year and it says Exclusive to FC in UK, does that mean there will be no Dutch?

We are a family of 5, are the family rooms really big enough or are they cramped as we had 2 interconnecting rooms this year and it was great.

Any info would be greatly appreciated :D

Jo if you look on the aquafantasy website you can see a room plan of the family room. We are a family of 5 and it looks spacious enough for us!

I think the "exclusive to FC in UK" is slightly misleading. This means that UK guests can only book through FC however it does not mean that other countries will not have tour operators using this hotel.

Thanks

Is the family room the one with 2 rooms or is it the one with sliding door into lounge area. As on Aquafantasy web site, you can book a family room and a family suite?

hiya, we've just come back from Aquafantsay on 4 th July & theres 5 of us, although 1 is a toddler, we had a double or king size bed with the travel cot sqeezed up beside it, then a sliding door & then the 2 beds for my other 2.
we had no lounge area, i hoped we would but no we didn't.

also the place was absolutley full of Dutch people! i wold say when we were there it was 30 % english the rest all nationalities!
we want to o next year but its double what we paid this year :(

Hi again Jo
I assumed that because we are a family of 5 we would be in a family suite rather than a family room because the rooms only say for 3 or 4 people. However now I've looked again the family room description does say 3 or 4 adults plus a fold down child bed so we could possibly fit into a room rather than a suite :think I was hoping for the suite as it looks much more spacious but knowing my luck it won't be!! We go in august this year so I'll let you know what we get. Technically we are 3 adults and 2 kids because my son is 14 so this may make a difference to what we get allocated.

Can anyone who's been this year tell me if the hotel exchanged currency at reception and if so what where the rates like? Thanks!

Weve just come back from hol village in Turkey and we paid in mostly English money, and by the sounds of things everything you buy in hotel you put on splascard and settle up at end of hol, so I'd take a bit of Lira and then some sterling.

We booked 2 junior rooms for the 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 kids. The rooms we had were huge and had basically 2 bedrooms, 1 with double bed, 1 with a single bed and double bed settee that's made up and with the space doesn't need to be put back to a sofa during the day. Then between the two bedroom was space with the large wardrobe and minibar and door off to the bathroom.

I had emailed the hotel direct and asked for nice pool view rooms and were given these in the Club main hotel. We went into a room in the Club grounds and also one on the World side with sliding doors and they were both quite alot smaller than ours, perhaps you could email them and ask for similar. I would have to say though, that even though they were big rooms I think you may be a bit overcrowded with the extra fold up bed, but then how long do you spend in your room?
Reply
Pamplemoose - thanks v much for the info on the rooms. We spend very little time in our room, literally first thing when we wake up and then again for an hour or so to shower/change before going out to dinner so room size is not that important in the grand scheme of things ;)

I'm certain someone else said the club side of the hotel was more spacious so I will email the hotel closer to the time (four weeks to go on thurs) and request this side.

Can anyone tell me what side of the hotel is the open air restaurant on that overlooks the pool? It's pictured on the AF website, sort of raised up on a platform? Sorry, not explaining myself well...

Hi Lynda, the restaurant you describe sounds more like the Lobby bar, we used to go to the lobby just before bed around 10.30 pm for our last drink of the night & you could go outside onto more tables outside that over look the hotel & i think the main pool. anyone who can correct me if i'm wrong though please feel free

I have found the answer to my own question! It's the tropicano restaurant that I was thinking of and this is on the club side! I know that another poster said this restaurant was mainly used by the Dutch guests. Anyone know why?

Is there an open-air restaurant on the world side?
Reply
Hi Lynda

Think the Tropicana is mainly used by the Dutch as they are mostly accomodated on this side, except for us of course, lol. There does seem to be a bit of a Dutch/English divide unfortunately and this can be seen especially in this side as the notices/details of kids clubs' etc are geared to them and not us. This is also where we saw the notice advising on the costs of 10 lirs for the banana boats but when the English ask, it goes up to 20 lira each so be warned here!

We ate mainly on this side though as at lunch there is also a bbq area serving roast chicken, pizza, burgers & hotdogs which isn't available on the World side unless you go to the seperate Pearl snack bar. This is in addition to the same hot items available on the World side and also it appeared a little hotter as it's a smaller restaurant so less trays to refill.

There are outside areas on both the Club and World sides, although we found it cooler to eat inside. Also it's non-smoking inside.

HTH any more questions I'll do my best to answer.
