Although the CSR and HV are sister hotels, you aren't allowed to use the restaurants in the one you aren't staying in.
You aren't even allowed to use the pools or facilities.
We stayed at CSR last year and had a few issues with the pools at the CSR ao requested to go to the HV to use their pools. We were told that wouldn't be possible as the wrist bands were a different colour and we wouldn't have towel tokens. If we wanted to eat there we would have to pay £30 each for the day
The only facilities you can use is the football pitch and that's only if you're booked into the kids soccer school.
Hope that helps.

The entertainment team who were at HV in May were Ali,Scooty,Natalie,Gareth & Tasha. They were very funny especially Gareth & Tash.
My husband loves seafood but I don't!! I hope so or I'll have to sit and watch him eat!!
No it is only seafood they serve in the seafood rest.
Incidentaly (spelling?) how is the Egyptian coffee? I am a big coffee lover ~ especially trying foreign coffee.
Do not use the phone in the rooms in the HV Red Sea. They fail to mention this but it costs £2 a minute. A thirteen minute phonecall to the UK cost us £23!
Did have an excellent holiday and am more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
This hotel is brilliant, we loved it so much we have booked to go back next year. If you are looking to book another holiday with FC do it in the travel shop whilst you are there, you will save around £300 on internet prices!
P.S It is the same Gareth!
Got a few mins to spare so i thought i'd write to you all as we're here at the HV right now. Its fab..staff are lovely, food is good ..had an upset tum one night and went straight to the chemist for some tablets which sorted it out within a few hours. Will write more when we get back at the end of this week...so keep watching this space!!
bye for now..
You've made me feel much more positive about my holiday
Thank you for contacting First Choice Holidays and Flights.
Further to your enquiry, We have had an increase in sickness but this is
mostly down to the soaring temperatures in resort. It's been over 50
degrees over the last few weeks. Guests sit out in the sun all day and do
not keep themselves sufficiently hydrated and therefore experience mild sun
stoke.
A few guests get a bit of an Egyptian belly as they adjust to the changes
in temperature, food & drinks. Not all guests get affected and the local
remedies are great.
We advise guests to bring re-hydration sachets as the temperatures
continue to rise here further throughout July/August. As long as you take
sufficient care of yourselves and keep out of the mid day sun you should
be absolutely fine.
Furthermore the hygiene in the hotel is regularly checked both by myself
and by an external independent hygiene company, the Holiday Village always
scores really well. We also have approximately 40 First Choice staff
living, eating, drinking in the hotel and none of them are ill. If we had
a problem with illnesses they would be suffering also.
Over 1300 customers have travelled with us and we have only had 11
reported illnesses.
I hope this offers some reassurance to you.
Kind regards

- this has certainly put my mind at rest and confirms what I thought originally after previous holiday in Sharm that a lot is to do with people not realising that the heat is intense and you really do need to be extra careful
Thank you for your email regarding your forthcoming holiday to Egypt. We have had an increase in sickness; however, this is mostly down to thesoaring temperatures in resort. Please can anyone tell me if children are allowed to wear t`shirts in the pool, we havn`t got one of those vest thingies - would normally just pop t`shirt onto Katie for a few hours around lunchtime. I know some hotels its ok some its not. She is 11 would rather just wear her cossie. thanks

Was reading something in the last few days that said the hotel only allowed those proper sun tops in the pool and not ordinary t`shirts - it wasn`t the Hol Vill. I just wanted to make sure, as I usually pack about 4 oldish ones that can get trashed.
Katiesmum ~ The kids could wear any type of T shirt last year in HV Turkey ~ I have never heard of that before tbh.
I made my daughter wear a t-shirt almost everyday between about 12-3pm as well as the high factor. It didn't go down very well with her but I didn't care. When they did water activities with kids club they prefered them to be covered up and I should imagine that during July and August they would insist on it.
This was the first holiday we have ever been on that me and my husband have used kids suntan lotion. It was also the best tan we have ever had .
While you are all sunning yourselves we will be camping in sunny (we hope!) Tenby.
Have a great holiday.
Thanks themcs, can`t beleive its getting so close. Hope the weather improves by the time you go to Tenby, you are very brave wouldn`t get me in a tent!!
Can anyone tell me the difference between a standard room and a select room? We have booked a standard, but a select is only an extra £80, I wonder if it would be worth it?
Hope someone can help me with that.
Last year at HV Turkey, we had the jaccuzi room, which was quite a good size, there are 4 of us. Me hubby and 2 kids.
Thanks Folks!

Justine: I think the difference between a select and standard room is with a select you get a separate area with a sofa,i'm not 100% but i think thats correct. We had a standard room,we aslo had a sofa but to be honest the rooms ars so big I don't think it makes much difference to have a select room.
hi all, i think a select room is slightly bigger but not by much, but im just basing this on a review i read... an i think it also said its in a good location but carnt remember exactly what was said. im also in a select room so if u do find out then let us know. has anyone read the recent reviews on holidaywatchdog, god they get worse i carnt believe how split the reviews are, is it really the same hotel there talking about or two different ones, it gets frm one extreme to the next. how can one post say the food is out this world and the next state the food is covered in flies and chefs sweat very confusing still looking forward to it, 9 weeks to go
