Somthing a bit different but cruise only so adding flight will add cost

I think this is cheap

Wind Surf £586pp 7n 24th Aug Barcelona to Monte carlo.

Just been checking some Jade prices for Jan, got a hint on Cruiscritic.

Uk pricing is cheaper than US

So do pay attention when pricing NCL and do not asume US will be cheaper.

Summit on the 27th August 12 nights from Venice to Barcelona for £575 Best at Cruises cruise only.
Scotland's Cruise Centre £619 Cruise only.
Jet2 fly to both destinations and I expect other low cost airlines also.

Inside grade 10 & 11 grade 9 inside more expensive.

On the subject of booking in the US re Hamrag's emails from VTG

I have been told that they are booking people giving their own address as you need some address in the US. This is apparently not legal and could present problems in the event of any insurance claims regarding say repatriation as this would be as per address given not the UK address.
I think this is a serious potential problem in that insurance companies these days want to get out of settling claims etc.
Just something to be careful about as the less cost in booking could be disasterous in the event of a serious problem. Also you would not be covered with ABTA. ATOL is OK because you would no doubt be booking flights from the UK.

The best deals I have seen for NCL Jade in January/February 2009 are with Check-in Cruise Club at http://www.cruise365.com a company we have used a couple of times and would certainly use again.

The price includes return flights to Barcelona and a 1 night pre-cruise central hotel stay. Tips are "free" i.e. paid up front by Check-in Cruise Club, and they also give $50 on board credit. There are 2 routes, sailing alternately and they can be combined to give a 21 night cruise. Outline details and prices as follows:

1 night hotel plus 9 night cruise to Morocco, Gran Canaria & Madeira on various Jan/Feb dates, total inclusive price is £549 for inside

1 night hotel plus 12 night cruise to Egypt, Greece & Turkey on various other Jan/Feb dates, total inclusive price is £669 for inside

Combine both for 1 night hotel plus 21 night cruise on various Jan/Feb dates, total inclusive price is £1089 or £1099 for inside, except for 26 Feb sailing which is £1199 (covers Easter weekend, I think).

There are also outside/balcony/suite cabins offered at higher prices.

Any of you experienced cruise peeps got any hints for New Year?
we are two adults plus a 14 yr old...so usually take a double outside opposite a single inside.....
would like to try the Carribean.....departing on or around the 27th december from manchester.....one week or two, or anything in between....
tried all the usual TO's...coming up with ridiculous prices.....eg £7000 for one week with thomson :yikes
Must be something better than that out there LOL if only i knew where to look.....

oh and PS we could all share an outside cabin if necessary....

Thanks usefull info, you should post this sort of research more often

We have used 365 before for a package NCL panama, very good price.

Thats some good pricing(are transfers included can't see from the site?)
NCL UK lead in for the Jan 9 night is £474(inc) so getting flight hotel for £75pp
DIY cheap flight are around £40-£50pp, which leaves around £50-£60 for a room
Easier to take the package, the savings that could be made DIY are minimal unless you find an agent giving discount on the base cruise fare.
Higher grades like the AF are much better saving with the package.

The owners suite prices on the 365 look like a misprint, if not bargain of the year at £1399(thye probably mean regular AE suite)

Think we will review our schedule we normaly go Nov early Dec and this year considering Xmas/NY, will look at Jan as well with posibly a shorter trip before the end ofthe year.

Need to print off the 2009 calender and mark off the school holidays.(easter is April 12 in 2009)

http://www.cruise365.com/searchpages/CRUISE_ncjame11dec0819mar09.htm if this is right I am booking one
Sent an email off so fingers crossed I get an AA for that price :rofl

I called and thats what they said for the 4th Jan 12n AA for £1399pp got cabin No.s and they were AA's

They must have some stonking deal with NCL these are over £3kpp on NCL sites.

Might be worth an enquiry for the lesser A* cabins the A3 take 4 persons.

Just had an answer it is AA for £1099 flights but no transfers...cracking deal
Have you seen an AA? what they like and what sort of perks do you get?

You realy want a cruise Travel agent rather than the TO's.

New year, Peak time and flight will be a killer as well as well cruises getting booked up
try pricing up your own flights to see what you are up against before you even try to get a cruise.

My first thought was a charter flight and Sea Princess 27dec. 14n
Brochure(1st ed) price cheapest OV was £1899pp inside £1539.

On-line today cheapest OV with flights 3berth over £5k. ouch.

Ocean village is another choice with charter flight but looks like £1500pp.

A bit early for teletext late deals.

I think there will be some good deals in the med this winter Xmas/NY will be pricy but as we are seeing either side is cheaper,

What about the Jade 4 Jan and do New year in Barcelona?

Not correct W/J, it is better than that....you need to take into account the paid tips and OBC worth approximately £50pp!!

Transfers are not included. Last time we used them and went to Barcelona we got the airport bus (very cheap) transfer to Playa Catalunya, had chosen the Gran Ducat Hotel which is only 150 metres from bus drop off and easy walk with wheels on cases. Taxi to the cruise terminal following morning was 25 euros including tip. On disembarkation we simply got the port shuttle to Colon monument and rolled the cases up Ramblas to Playa Catalunya, and watched the world go by for an hour, as we had bags of time. Cannot imagine a taxi from cruise terminal to airport would be any more than say 50 euros.

Yes, probably a good deal but.....you can do both cruises i.e. 21 nights inside for that price! Each to their own, but if I was retired would certainly take that one. Sadly our holiday entitlement is all taken up so cannot even consider the 9/10 nighter on this occasion, but very pleased to be pointing others with free time available.

In May a taxi from the port to airport was 31 Euros.

Perk same as my post on the Jade thread and more,
This is a cracking deal the AA includes courtyard access and is huge.

Remember the concierge and butler are not included in the tip pool. :)

The pricing above includes tips at £474 and the OBC(inside) is £12.50pp which I did forget.

Higher grades the saving are outstanding based on current NCL pricing.

The Aerobus is 4.05 single, 7 return, convenient and very regular.

The cheapest transport to central BCN is to use a T10(7,20)pass(10 trips multiple people) if going to use the subway or buses some more during your stay or on return.
There is the train about every 30mins(T10 is valid on this train)
Bus(46) from the airport to plas de espanya but requires a change if going elswhere, full fare is 1.30eur.

For BCN transport

there is a great interactive map.

Plenty of info for tourists with a google, here is some more port info

Checked the pricing for other A* grades, and the AA are the deal for these trips shame they are only a 2pax cabin.

The A3 which would normaly be a few hundred cheaper is more, and an AC was so close to make no difference.

The AA gets full access to the courtyard area.

TM, booked yet?

Not sure why this would cause a problem for insurance, my annual policy is unrelated to any bookings I make it is UK policy with me at a UK address, most people should have UK travel insurance.
I could have multiple homes and book travel from any of them but always choose to be repatriated back to the UK on the UK travel policy.

AS it happens I book my NCL cruises with a UK address no problem US direct with NCL and through a TA.
