I much prefer the Algarve evening breeze rather than be sticky with my makeup running like I usually am during the evening of a Med holiday.

We go again in 11 days :cheers Anybody got the latest weather forecast for Albufiera?

Whats the weather like in PDL end of May please? I've heard it's colder the further West you go.

Hello all, Would like to know whats the weather going to be these dates. I've looked up the 10 day forecast but I would like to hear from folk who have had experience holidaying September/October other years. I'm sick of the London weather and long for hot sunbathing days. Many thanks.

Sorry, forgot to mention where we were going to. Alvor, staying at the Pestana Dom Joao 2.

We've just returned from 2 weeks in Santa Eulalia, Albufeira and the weather was glorious! :sun2
(With the exception of one heavy rainfall during one night followed by a few overcast hours the next morning.)

Last year we were there for the last 2 weeks of September, and again, the weather was fabulous.

This year though, it did get quite cool most nights and so my lightweight jacket got used quite a bit.
(Yet last year - even though we went later, my jacket never came out of the wardrobe until it was time
to go home??? :que )

It was 85F here today and was still 80F at 7pm.

Fingers crossed - it was like this last September until the 30th, when the weather broke with a massive storm and then it was not all that wonderful for quite a few days afterwards.

I am thinking of going to Acoteias in the Algarve for the first week in November. Can anyone tell me what the weather is usually like at that time of year?

Roy have a look at http://www.wunderground.com it will show the map of europe, click on Portugal, the next page will give the Cities, click on Faro and then go into History & Alamanac, just put the dates in and the year you require and it will show you what the weather was like, e.g. say maybe last year in the 1st week of November.

Thanks Nosivad, you have cheered me up for the rest of the day, at least I'll be able to get the washing out on the line then, and of course sit by the pool with a glass or two of Vinho Tinto. :cheers :sun2 :tup

Thanks Jayjan/Nosivad for your tips. Best to go prepared so knowing likely temperatures in advance was helpful. We have just got back from Acoteias and the weather held no real surprises. We stayed there from 30 Oct to 6 Nov. It was raining when we arrived but this cleared up by the next morning and the rest of the week was really quite nice. Mainly sunny and warm and ideal walking weather. It was a bit chilly in the evening though and a pullover or light jacket was needed if venturing out. We had the use of an indoor swimming pool so that was quite helpful, no one went in the out door pool while we were there!

Hi Roy, Nosivad, the weather was not that bad after you both left, in and out of sun, odd bits of scattered rain & cloud, overall was ok,but it was a wee tad cold a night but went prepared with long sleeved sweaters, some folks were walking around in summer tops at night, are they mad or what or got no feeling :D.had a few extra glasses of vinho to warm the extremities, (What an excuse). Back to the wind & rain, how depressing. Nosivad was nice meeting you and your wife & hope you had a safe journey home with no delays. Cheers Jayjan

It's worse here today. I am going up the pub to drink a lot of beer and watch the English football.

It looked thoroughly miserable on the webcams again; in fact a couple of the cams have packed it in, presumeably due to the weather conditions.

Tuesday 29th 5pm - it's been blowing half a gale and raining hard all day here in Albufeira. My local weather station went off line in the small hours following a series of short power cuts.

The only good news is that it is quite warm - 17C/62F earlier.

It looks like the heavy rain has moved off to the east, so that area of the Algarve plus Jerez/Cadiz/Gibrlaltar are in some for nasty weather.

There's no immediate respite in sight as the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is for more showers.
