Thanks for the suggestions. RFC is out as we've tried it round the world and they hate it. I love it. Have done a search with the postcode and there are a lot of restaurants round about that the kids will eat at. Quite excited now.
Help............................
Have you considered the Youth Hostels - not all all what you are probably expecting and a VERY cheap bed!!
http://www.imperialhotels.co.uk The Tavistock is pretty good value and easy walking distance of west end and Covent Garden. If you don't mind staying a little further out http://www.wardoniahotel.co.uk is fantastic value for money, rooms are tiny but clean and comfortable. It's up by Kings Cross so it is walking distance if the weather's nice (about 20-25 mins) and you're in a really good spot for tube connections.
You could try
Try looking on hotel direct site. We stayed at Club Quaters trafalgar square, great modern rooms in the middle of all sights.
http://www.travelzoo.co.uk for London Hotels, they might not neccesarily be slap bang in the centre but everything is so close.
Or http://www.hotelclub.net/, where you can choose your location.
If you can get anything around £100 per night around Covent Garden area that will be good.
Sometimes you can get a good deal on Or http://www.hotelclub.net/, where you can choose your location.

I go to Notting Hill Carnival on the 25th of August and I need an accommodation.
Could you tell me if there are quite comfortable hotels for maximum £70 per night because I cant pay more for this music festival
Thank you
Thibault
mh, try if you can find something on studios92.com. usually they have a lot of places to chose from and I hope for you they will also have it for the carneval. when I go to london I always book with them and until now I have always been satisfied. how many are you? yeah, but I think it should work...
have fun at the carneval
I stayed at YHA Holland Park last year - right on the doorstep and I only paid £17 a night!!

We're staying at The Express by Holiday Inn at Victoria and getting a quad room for £340 for 3 nights which works out at £30 per night each.
You might want to check out Active Hotels too (click on cheapest double room and put the right date in))
http://www.activehotels.com/hotel/location/en/united_kingdom/england/greater_london/london?page=1&orderBy=doubleprice:false
When do you think will be the earliest date that accomodation can be booked in London?
They might take booking one year in advance.
I know when I tried to book a hotel online before, it only went forward one year.
Are you planning to come down for 2012?
Also on the Monday our flight isn't until 6.30pm. But need to do something. Does Paddington have a left luggage area or has that been removed in the wake of terrorist attacks? Not sure what to do with 2 children age 6 and 8 on the Monday. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks
Groovee
I don't think any stations or airports have left luggage areas now, but you should be able to leave your luggage at the hotel and pick it up later.
We left our luggage at Kings Cross Station and it cost us £6 a bag ! This was in January. It wasnt in lockers though, there was a airport style desk where they put it through scanners!
Now that sounds fab as we'll need to drop our things at Paddington but not sure if Paddington have one. Will need to do a bit of searching.
Paddington have a left luggage section like Kings Cross on platform 12 open from 7am. Ideal for us to drop off and then head out somewhere for the day.
Thanks in advance.
