Hi, March is still the dry season so the weather should be perfect anywhere in the Maldives. As it's a tropical climate you may still get the odd sharp shower but they only last 10 mins or so.

As for which island, it depends on what your looking for AI/FB, big/small, entertainment?, good snorkelling ect ect

Well we are looking to spend time in the day scuba diving, so there would need to be a dive school on the resort..and some pretty decent dive sites (even a wreck or 2 maybe as Rob likes wreck diving..but it is ok if it is just reefs).

AI would be preferable so we don't have to worry too much about spends other than for the odd gift and for the dive package itself.

Would like it reasonably lively as I would die of boredom if there was nowt to do after diving..

Am I being too fussy here? I have scoured the web trying to find what I want..seen lots of good places..

Think it might be worth your while looking at Meeru. There is a shortage of wrecks in the Maldives, but the Maldives Victory, not far from the airport is one of the better ones and Ocean Pro at Meeru offer (or at least did offer!) speedboat "safaris" down there once a week.
Generally the diving around Meeru is very good, and being one of the bigger islands is a little livlier, with more watersports/excursions opportunities than many. For this reason it does attract some families, but as March is outside the main school holiday season, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Otherwise, for somewhere a little further afield Kuredu has some fantastic diving and snorkelling, there is a tuna fishing boat wreck within 40mins of the island by Dhoni - and it even has a golf course!

I'm not a diver but I beleive the South Ari atol is supposed to have very good diving so Sun island would probably suit you. Its one of the biggest islands and has a bit more to do.

One thing to beware of if it's your first time to the Maldives is that the all inclusive packages offered are not as comprehensive as you'd find elsewhwere. So if you only drink premium wines/spirits ect it might work out better to go HB/FB.

Many thanks for the replies.. I keep looking but everywhere looks so appealing it is hard to choose which one will be best for us!
